Alpha H Liquid Gold - how best to use?

I have ordered this and also the intensive night repair serum and they should be delivered today.

I have dry, flaky skin and a bit of redness especially in the nose area.

How is the best way to get good results please. I have read about it on here and it seems to have good reviews so fingers crossed!

Cult Beauty have good instructions in the How To Use section for the serum: www.cultbeauty.co.uk/alpha-h-liquid-gold-intensive-night-repair-serum.html

Only use the original formula two or three times a week, and not two nights in a row.

I use it twice a week and don't put anything else on top of it.

The next morning, I use extra oil and sunscreen.

Thanks, I looked up the cultbeauty and followed the instructions. Didnt really see a change this morning but need to be patient lol.

I can't bring myself to only use this product so I use it in place of a toner/softener but leave it alone to work for 5-10 minutes before layering on other products Smile

Kiwikay you might prefer Pixi Glow Tonic, that's a toner version of glycolic to be used daily. LG definitely works better on its own - undiluted so to speak.. It works by changing the pH of the skin so anything you put on top of it stops it doing its job.. Well, that's my understanding anyway!

I've switched to Pixi for a change, I like it more. I'm using Alpha H power peel twice a week at night. It's great!

Hi Coleus - yeah I've been using Pixi for years - since back in the day when they were sold in the square-ish pump bottles and hand filled ☺
It's a good product. BravuraLondon do a similar product which I sometimes purchase also. Pixi have changed their formula a few times over the years but the previous formula was an exact duplicate of the Bravura - exactly the same ingredients in exactly the same order... but they've changed in again recently.

Yeah any AHAs work best in a low pH environment. So I believe Alpha-H has a pH of about 3 and has a 5% concentration of glycolic acid so it works well. However the second ingredient is denatured alcohol which I generally avoid in such large concentrations. So to counteract the drying effect of the alcohol, I always layer afterwards. 😊

I use it every other night and don't put anything else on top.

Hi kiwikay! Sounds like you have it nailed! I'm new to Pixi, I like it!
