This (overpriced?) skirt for an hourglass shape?

I tried it on and really like the pattern. I have a £50 gift card to use from Christmas so it would only feel like I'm spending £48 ;-). The style/shape suits me I think but I would need to wear a fitted top with it so that it accentuates the waist. I was thinking just a plain jersey type long sleeved top. I could wear it year round (with sandals or tights and boots). I might keep an eye out for it in the sale as it feels overpriced but I am trying to be more quality than quantity now that I'm mid 40s so I would pay this for it if I was convinced. I'm between a size 12 and 10 having lost a couple of stones. But I would buy the 10 as I'm confident that I'll be there soon.

I fee like I've posted in AIBU Blush Grin.

Goodness, yes, this is all rather AIBU isn't it Confused

I think it's because it's such a ubiquitous print, as well as looking like a very simple cut.

Bet if you'd linked this version people wouldn;t have been so harsh, although it's exactly the same skirt. With this print it's easier to see that it's a very flattering cut indeed (bottom 2/3 bias but the top 1/3 not).

There are tonnes of this sort of skirt about but you'll not likely get a cut like that for 48 quid or less.

Thank you Mrs Wink

Oh, but it's dry clean only! Did you see that? Most unfair.

They have some very nice sandals. These could be very useful

MrsLettuce · 24/05/2016 21:52

yes, very

JohnCheese · 24/05/2016 22:07

Love the shape/cut of the skirt. But I will gently agree with the naysayers. Way overpriced. I've had terrible experiences with viscose. Shrinks like a raisin. If it's 60% off, buy, and make sure you tell me - I'll buy too!

Pupsiecola · 24/05/2016 22:09

Thanks Mrs but they don't go up to my shoe size!

Thing is, in the flesh it really is in a different league from White Stuff and the like. But I will just keep an eye on it online...

Pupsie please have a look at the Esprit website. Lots of pretty flippy skirts much cheaper than this one. I used to buy Jigsaw (shoot me now!) in the belief the high prices meant better quality but that's just not so.

Pupsiecola · 08/07/2016 08:25

At half price, I'll have it now thank you very much :-) Glad I waited...

I just clicked on it and it says in sale at £48?!!

SonicSpotlight · 08/07/2016 08:31

If you find something you love from there it's worth the money. The quality is great.

JohnCheese · 08/07/2016 15:59

Pupsie is it as good as you hoped? Sizing?

Pupsiecola · 09/07/2016 15:24

It is lovely. A very classy friend approves and my husband and sons really like it too. It could be worn in the summer, or winter with tights and boots. I really like it and feel it's a fair price to pay. That feels a lot better than feeling I've been ripped off, no matter how much I like it!

Sizing is true I would say. I'm a 12 in most shops (M&S, Fat Face, White Stuff, Hobbs etc.) and the 12 fits like a glove.

OP - definitely wait for it to go in the sale - I've got one like that from Jigsaw and only bought it half price in sale!

Pupsiecola · 09/07/2016 23:25

Ummm, maybe read the thread super. It is half price in the sale. So I have bought it ;-)

OP - I saw that at the end, apols!
