What to wear to the Ballet?

Hello Stylish People!
I'd really appreciate some help on what to wear to see Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall in a couple of weeks.
I am post-baby x 2 and not overly body confident at the moment but I'm working on that.
I'm 5"1, size 14 below, and size 16 on top, all boobs and belly. My legs are ok-ish. I've dark hair & olive skin.
We don't get out much these days so I'd love to look nice.
Also, if anybody has been to the Royal Albert hall before and can advise me roughly on the kind of dress code that would be helpful.
Budget up to £150.

I go to Sadlers Wells and the Royal Opera House to see the ballet every Christmas. These days, there is no dress requirement, but totally get what you mean about dressing up.
Are you confident in dresses? Skirts and tops? Or trousers and top? One thing that is always a factor for me is being able to walk comfortably across London, so I tend to start outfits with shoes. Is it a daytime or evening performance? I would be more dressy in the evening.

Anything at all - there is no dress code whatsoever. You could happily wear jeans, as I did last time.

I would be inclined to dress down, so as not to look like you're trying too hard.

Bloody hell I won't be dressing down when I go to see Carlos Acosta in October ( last classical performance). Wear what's going to make you feel great but do consider the shoe issue if you're doing much public transport. I don't know what I shall wear - slightly depends on the weight issue but I've seen a lady who make beautiful bespoke, embroidered Kimonos on Instagram and might contact her. In that instance I would dress it down with jeans perhaps. Another option for me would be a black tuxedo trouser and a cream silk shirt. Have a great time whatever you decide to wear.....ps What shops do you normally shop in?

It's an evening performance, and we will probably go for a drink afterwards. DH is driving so no trains, long periods of walking etc.
I never wear jeans as am very high waisted / apple shape & can never get a good fit.
I would prefer a dress or skirt/top combi.
I mostly shop high street online.
I'm glad I asked now! Would hate to look over-done.

How about a jumpsuit OP? I have a black silk one from Cos which is nicely tailored and flattering ( I'm a size 16). You could start with Finery or & Other stories for inspiration.

Sorry cross post - my recommendations for Finery & & other stories still stand. They both have skirts & dresses that are chic and modern and not too over the top.

When I go to the Albert Hall I just wear 'work smart' clothes, because it's that fine balance between looking nice (you want to make an effort and enjoy your night out - you can wear jeans every day) and looking like you went over the top because you never go out.

I worked for Englsih National Ballet for 10 years so have been to see them at the Royal Albert Hall many many times (you are going love Swan Lake in the round by the way). There is absolutely no dress code there and you will see everything from jeans to posh frocks. I promise that no one will judge you on your clothing choices so wear whatever you like. I tended to end up going in whatever I had worn at work that day as ENB are based next door to the Albert Hall. I would recommend layers though as the temperature can go can up and down during the evening.
