Jumpsuits - what are the rules?

OublietteBravo · 20/05/2016 19:28

Jumpsuits seem to have become ubiquitous. I'm wondering whether to get one.

I'm 40, pear-shaped and a size 6/8. What do I need to know? Or is it a really terrible idea?

No saggy bums Sad rules self out

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 20/05/2016 19:37

Rule no1. Don't wear one on a night out drinking as you will find that you spend far too long in the toilet taking the whole ensemble off when you want a quick wee.

Floisme · 20/05/2016 19:39

Check your rear view before you buy. I look great in them. From the front...

specialsubject · 20/05/2016 19:42

keep the sleeves off the toilet floor.

PhylumChordata · 20/05/2016 19:43

No camel's hoof

Diddlydokey · 20/05/2016 19:44

Don't look like Sam Bailey

southeastastra · 20/05/2016 19:45

god knows, I tried on a lovely one (on the hanger) from whistles that was £160 but it literally looked like a sack

southeastastra · 20/05/2016 19:45

i think you have to accessorise very very welll

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 20/05/2016 19:47

Can be flattering but look awful with a cardi.

MakingJudySmile · 20/05/2016 19:47

The ages in the toilet thing is certainly no lie!!

OublietteBravo · 20/05/2016 19:49

Good tips regarding toilet etiquette - I'd not really thought about that.

I have largish hips/thighs, but I'm quite toned. Maybe I should try a few on...

I think it's a case of finding a good fit. Too loose and they give you an arse like a barrage balloon. But too fitted and as Phylum says, you get the dreaded camel toe.

AmberNectarine · 20/05/2016 19:52

The loo thing is a PITA. I love them though.

cressetmama · 20/05/2016 20:13

The loo is mainly a problem in chilly climates... or severe air-conditioning. In the tropics, it's good to cool off for a moment!

OublietteBravo · 20/05/2016 22:23

I live in East Anglia. It doesn't tend to be tropical around here...

Does anyone's bum look that good in a jumpsuit?
I bought the hush one. I look great from the front :) The jury is out whether it looks a bit shit from the back Confused. Not sure about it tbh.

Ledkr · 20/05/2016 22:55

They are like harem pants imho. They make everyone's arse look fat and saggy even people with small tight arses, therefore anyone can wear them 😝 and blame the garment.
Win win

Dontyouopenthattrapdoor · 20/05/2016 23:01

I've never seen anyone's arse look good in one.

pseudonymity · 21/05/2016 01:22

Don't wear with trainers, suddenly becomes boiler suit territory. My arse looks ok I think, I'm going to check next time I have it on now. Mine has an elasticated waist, sounds awful but actually good. Loose all over but not baggy.

SeasonalVag · 21/05/2016 06:21

I think, get a structured one of you have mum tum....I look great in denim jumpsuits but the slowly ones glide across my csextion bulge on a very unflattering way....

OublietteBravo · 21/05/2016 13:32

I quite like this one.

OP posts:
AdoraKiora · 21/05/2016 13:37

I have tried a few on and they just do nothing for me. They're so awful around the bum and foof!

If you can find one that makes your derriere look perky and doesn't show the shape of your genitals, tell me where! Grin
