Gained 1.5 stones in a year and feeling frumpy

And I feel absolutely annoyed at myself. I don't like dressing up anymore. Nothing looks good.

This is on top of me being overweight, so maybe I am pushing obese BMI now.

Went back to uni and I thought I'm going to lose weight because of the stress - guess what, didn't happen.

I guess I just want to vent. And maybe find people in the same boat - how do you make yourself feel good after a massive weight gain?

Summer bodies are made in winter ... Plus you can get outside which I found hard in the Aussie summer

CoolToned · 28/05/2016 22:22

Pisssssedoff - I was 167 at the start of winter last year, so you're right - my 188 pounds summer body was made during that time!

Ha ha

AdrenalineFudge · 29/05/2016 19:47

cool how regularly are you weighing yourself? I tend to weigh myself fortnightly but it seems my scales have taken on a life of its own as this morning I was 17 stone and an hour ago I was 8 stone Confused

AdrenalineFudge · 29/05/2016 19:48

But I know I'm somewhere around 9 stone give or take a few pounds.

CoolToned · 29/05/2016 21:21

Adrenaline - it depends on how strict I am with my eating plan. It can be once daily, or sometimes once a month. I know I should not weigh once daily.

I haven't weighed in about three days.

Time for a new scale for you!

Slipped for a few days. Gained back the six pounds I lost since starting this thread. Back to it.

Exam period sucks.

Just wanted to wish you a good day with your efforts Smile I'm starting today as I have a couple of stone to lose but am concentrating on the first 7lbs first. Have never dieted properly before but intend to go lower carb and low sugar with good fats as far as possible though my sister is calorie counting and has lost 16lbs in 4 weeks on 1200 cals a day! Actually now I can't decide how to do it - will have a rethink...
Anyway just really wanted to wish you well as I've been watching your thread

I am on a spin bike as we speak, have a great week everyone lets do this !

Eliza22 · 07/06/2016 07:53

I've lost 5lbs in 2 weeks. Very pleased. Lots of dog walking!

Eliza22 · 07/06/2016 07:54

Sorry OP. Just realised this is a different thread to the one I thought it was!

Keep going.... And good luck with those exams

CoolToned · 07/06/2016 09:08

Thanks! I'm so stressed - I keep eating. Low carb, yes, but it seems I eat all the time.

Well done on the 5 pounds!

I did the first session of couch to 5k yesterday (am feeling it today though) and in total clocked 22,000 steps for the day. Not sugar either.

Avoiding the scales for now...

CoolToned · 15/06/2016 10:24

Ok, I restarted yesterday - just couldn't stick to it during my exam. I still have one more exam, but it's an easier subject. So wish me luck!

Third day. Now boiling some chicken bones for broth -- I need soup!

Pisssssedofff · 16/06/2016 13:30

Get lifting weights and eating protein. I'm on week two and my size 10's are hanging off me now

CoolToned · 16/06/2016 19:53

Yup I do low carb. Haven't started on the weights though...planning to buy a set of dumbbells but don't know where to start. Well done, Pisssed!

Go for kettle bells instead, more effective ... Argos sell them quite cheaply

CoolToned · 16/06/2016 22:53

Ok, will look for kettle bells. Do I need one or two like dumbbells?

OP posts:
Pisssssedofff · 16/06/2016 22:55

Just one, 8kgs would be like 2 4kgs Dumbbells. You don't want any lighter than 8kgs. And be aiming to be at 16kg in about 8 weeks
