Summer cardis help

So if it's summer and I'm wearing a kneelenght or longer, wider skirt or shorts - what sort of cardigan/sweater/warmer cover thing on top would be flattering to wear? I'm trying to not look like a complete frump. Jeans jackets seem popular but they look too sweaty in warmer weather.

I'm early 30's and sort of hourglass shaped if it helps.
Advice appreciated.

Woolovers silk and cotton
Land's End Supima range

But, I've yet to find a cardigan that doesn't actually hide your waist, which for an hourglass is a bit annoying.

I was nattering to the staff in Bravissimo/Pepperberry the other day. I admired both their cardigans. One was from Dotty P's and the other, shorter, 3/4 sleeves, did actually show off her waist was from Pepperberry itself.

I buy the H&M cotton ones, size down and wear open. That way they fit neatly around the waist.

The woolovers cropped silk and cotton ones with 3/4 length sleeves. I'm under 5ft and they stop on my waist
