Which perfume am I desperately looking for?

Years ago, (many) I loved the just musk perfume oils at the body shop. And recently I liked their vanilla perfume (before they changed it). So I love scents that smell 'warm', musky and dark but a bit sweet too, I suppose.

Too many scents make my head hurt so I've put off going into a shop and trying scent after scent so I thought I'd ask on here first. Is there a perfume that fits my bill?

Jo malone vanilla and anise?

Badders123 · 13/05/2016 19:16

Cashmere by next might suit

SwedishEdith · 13/05/2016 19:23

This one might work - Lolita Lepicka

pinkmagic1 · 13/05/2016 19:29

Doir Addict

You might like Valentina by Valentino, it's not musky but it's a warm powdery scent, it's gorgeous. Has quite strong vanilla base notes.

IWannaHoldYourHand · 13/05/2016 20:36

Here is a musk one from The Library of Fragrance. I don't know what it's like, but I have others from there which are nice.

mumsnit · 13/05/2016 20:40

Have you tried Body Shop 'Black Musk'?

CharleyDavidson · 13/05/2016 21:53

Great suggestions, thanks. I shall see which are in the perfume shop local to me to investigate.

I'm interested in the Valentina one as I love a vanilla perfume. Some of the children in my class have told me I smell like sweeties. :) I've sent for a sample thanks.

There was one in a green and white box, inexpensive, around 1990, Im sure independant chemists still sell it. It could have been called Vanilla Musk.

memyselfandaye · 13/05/2016 21:59

A quick google tells me you can still get it for under £10, its by Coty.

MissBattleaxe · 13/05/2016 21:59

Try This Choco musk. It's cheap, but very good.

Angel by Thierry mugler

MissBattleaxe · 13/05/2016 22:01

You could also layer Dior Hypnotic Poison (lovely deep vanilla) with a good musk such as Library of Fragrance, Jovan Musk For Women, or the perennial Body Shop White Musk.

memyselfandaye · 13/05/2016 22:29

Angel is the worst cloying smell in the world, it lingers forever. I have a workmate that loves it, but too many people have told her it stinks (in a nice way) Grin

You could honestly still smell it the next day when you went into the office.

MissBattleaxe · 13/05/2016 23:42

Angel is very strong for office wear!

MotherBluestocking · 14/05/2016 00:06

Try Cinema by Yves Saint Laurent which is a wonderfully fuzzly vanilla.

JoLo "Glow" is lovely. Don't be put off by the name, honestly it's really lovely :)

MissBattleaxe · 14/05/2016 14:30

No, don't be put off by celebrity scents. Some of them are excellent. JLo especially has a fair bit of critical respect. JLo Deseo is especially good, but not sure it's the vanilla/musk combo you are seeking.

MsBojangles · 14/05/2016 14:36

I sometimes like a bit of JLo Glow after a bath before bed, it smells comforting and clean a bit like Nivea.

ShmooBooMoo · 14/05/2016 15:13

Estee Lauder Sensuous EDP

ihave2naughtydogs · 14/05/2016 15:15
