What's fashionable for a wedding?

I don't really want a Coast/LK Bennett look. I've been looking at the Outnet and so far have managed to order 2 dresses that look like they're from Coast/ LK Bennett :

blue floral

yellow

The styles above suit me, I have good lower legs not very toned arms but manage these styles above. I'm a size 10, hourglass/slight pear. 5'3", nearly 40.

Could I do better? Accessorise with bright colours? Is this all wrong or the only way to do 'wedding guest'???

I like the yellow, although I would look like cat shit in that colour. Quite hard to accessorise with that colour?

I have just bought this Ted Baker dress for an upcoming Communion.

Oooh, it's gorgeous on. Have no idea what to wear over it, so am praying for sun (and upping my arm weight training at the gym).

I'm one of those lucky people who suits yellow, makes me look like I have a tan. Accessories that I have considered: nude or turquoise or gold or a bright colour like orange/pink. Strappy sandals. but its all a bit....hmmm, not what I want.

I love the blue floral, but then I like lk Bennett.

The first one is pretty but very coast/ted bakerish. Not sure it looks like it would be that price but maybe beautiful quality in the hand than on the picture.

To be fair they are natural fibre and lined in natural fibre which is vanishingly rare these days but the weddings I'm attending are mid summer/abroad so I can't be having sweaty material.

With my shape/size/age and budget what should I be considering (I'm at a loss...)

I think the first dress is beautiful. If its within your budget then there is no problem. When you look at the first one closely, it looks really unusual. Its just the price took me by surprise!
I have a wedding to go to in August and have bought a simple white stuff dress but then to me, I like to be able to wear things again and for other purposes. I don't have lots of dressy occasions so although I was originally contemplating a coast dress, decided against it for that reason.
I don't like the second dress but its the colour I dislike most. I'm not fussed for yellow.

aw, you're so kind! Sorry, I come across as very direct without realising it - they are pricey, you're right but for the right dress I'm willing to pay it.

I like the floral one because of the shape, the asymmetry and the panels. I LOVE yellow - not many people wear it and its flattering on me. I just worry the cut is a bit 'work dress' - though I could actually wear it again or work.

I have a couple of pure silk 1960s outfits; dresses and matching coats/jackets. They look brand new although I always get them dry cleaned beforehand.
No way will anyone look the same as you either.
I ALWAYS get positive feedback.
I swan around looking feeling like a cross between Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn.
If you're an hourglass early 60s and 50s sizing will fit beautifully.
If you're more pear you can also go for mod styles.
I've never had any problems with stuff being shipped over from the USA.
