Any ideas for jacket for this dress?

It's for a wedding where it's likely to be chilly outside but hopefully not inside so won't need to be on all the time. I'm thinking maybe a warm jacket/blazer as I might be too cold in a normal blazer.

Colour is hard, though, as there are lots of colours in the dress and I'm not great at visualising how things will match.

I have dark hair, don't suit peely wally shades and two small DC so light colours not great when they decide to wipe their faces on me. Size 12/14.

Any ideas? Thank you Smile

Either a lilac or mint blazer would work.

Purple. I look terrible in pastels too, and that's what I'd choose.

I think it's the shape you'll have to be careful getting right. Lots of colours in the dress to work with so I would concentrate on getting a jacket with a good shape and nipped in waist or go for something short and boxy. Personally I would go down the pashmina, shawl route. If you are determined to wear a jacket, lots of trying on is in order! Good luck.

They are wintery looking and won't match the dress. You need a spring or summer fabric.

I thought she said that it was going to be chilly outside and she wanted something warm? The wedding might be in Iceland for all we know!

Have a look on the Ted Baker site. They sell lots of floral dresses and have some lovely fitted, cropped collarless jackets and some lovely capes. If you find the look you like you can then search for a cheaper version if Ted Baker is too expensive.

Sorry Nettle, I thought you were the OP. Didn't mean to offend. I do however think the jackets are the wrong fabric and if the wedding is in Iceland, may be better rethinking the dress for a more appropriate one.

It's in the north of Scotland, early autumn, so could be bloody freezing. I need to be warmish for taking the 2yo on walks outside to distract her from bf as it ain't happening in that dress!

Thank you for suggestions, I have not had a chance to look properly yet as technically supposed to be writing an essay. Will check back!
