Bikini for almost 13 year old

DD wants to wear a bikini on holiday - fair enough, she'll be 13 in October.

However, she's very concious of her tummy (slim but is adamant she doesn't want small bikini bottoms) so we need something that is a bit more high rise and also a top that is NOT padded.

She's about an adult size 8 but obviously padded bras are not wanted!

Any help appreciated - it's a bit of a holy grail I appreciate and I've been looking myself for a few weeks!

How about something like this (the Toast version is expensive but you can probably find a similar style elsewhere for less)? Halterneck top, high waisted bottoms. I actually have that set in a floral print from a couple of years ago and it's really nice, very flattering without being inappropriately "sexy bikini" for a young girl. Also the paddedness of the top is very light (like, more a "nipples not showing through" effect than anything else) but you can remove the pads.

How about a surf brand bikini? Try surfdome or shore online stores. They aren't usually passed in my experience.

Actually, surf brand is a really good idea. They also tend to have a few more bum-covering styles, eg www.roxy-ireland.ie/bikinis/?prefn1=bottom-coverage&prefv1=large

board shorts look great on anyone and you can get a choice of lengths. They also dry quickly so you can swim without sitting round in nasty damp bikini knickers afterwards, and don't disappear up any orifices.

Asos.

They have so much variety, loads of high waisted bottoms as they're very in at the mo, and load of different styles of tops.

Plus they do free delivery and returns.

They also do mix and match so she could buy a few bits.

Some of the bikinis tops are rather raunchy Shock so just skim past them Grin

Fat Face have some really nice ones.
Also JohnnieB- they aimed at teens, so usually fairly non-bisque, not padded either.

risque, not bisque!! No lobsters were harmed...

I bought some from Decathlon for my almost 13 year old DD last summer, who is a size 6/8. I think they do a mix and match line of separates, generally sporty styles. Also very reasonably priced.

Was going to also say Fat Face.

Depends on how busty she is OP. My 13 yr old is wearing a 32E at the moment and it's a real challenge. Got her a couple of bikini tops from the Next sale and took out the chicken fillets when they arrived. Why, when you're a 32E do you need push-up?!
Have had to return a selection of bottoms as they all disappear up her bum and she doesn't like the really high waisted ones as she thinks they make her bum look massive. We just want some normal, regular sized bottoms!

They had some lovely swimwear in TKMaxx the other day. If you can stand the jumble sale it's worth a rummage.
