Help me find a pair of the dreaded shorts

I normally avoid shorts like the plague. I do think they can look lovely on the slim, long limbed and tanned type. I am none of those things.

However I am off on holiday in July with 2 young children in tow and a fair amount of walking and sandcastle building on the agenda. So, I think I might need a pair of shorts.

Please help me find a pair that won't make me look like a girl guide leader or be up around my arse cheeks.

Gap girlfriend shorts are what you want. They're not Daisy Duke hotpants but nor are they half way down your thighs. Just ordinary shorts length.

I bought some of those (possibly on your recommendation?) for my holiday earlier this year. I got chino style ones and they were just what I needed.

I bought several Boden pairs of shorts last year. can't remember the style, but they were chino and they did them in 2 lengths. they're great and I say this as a committed non-shorts wearer.
