Just trying to get an idea of what's fair to pay for waxing.

Essentially I want all hair below the waist removed!

Thanks

I pay £45.00 for Hollywood, full legs and underarms

chanie44 · 03/05/2016 06:34

Full legs £20 and a Brazilian is about £15, so £35 ish.

I live in a diverse area and there seems to be loads of threading and waxing places, which are really cheap (the downside is that they aren't glamorous and the staff can be abrupt)

Cric · 03/05/2016 06:36

I pay £30 for full leg and bikini line.

Savagebeauty · 03/05/2016 06:42

£15 for Brazilian. Legs are lasered.

mowglik · 03/05/2016 09:31

Wow I pay a lot by comparison, £52 for Hollywood (if that's the all off one) hot wax, legs and underarm. She did come to my house to do it though and prices in salons round here are the same.

Happily don't pay that anymore since getting a lumea 🤓

MushroomTree · 03/05/2016 19:36

I have to say, the £50 mark was what I was expecting for full legs and Hollywood.

Now, be honest with me, how much does it hurt?!

Is there a standard amount of time a wax lasts as well? Or does it depend on the person. I grow hair very quickly (have to shave legs every day if I have them out) and would love to wax and get away with longer

Ilovetorrentialrain · 03/05/2016 19:43

£30 Hollywood
£15 half leg
If I have a full, leg it's part of a deal £30 for full leg and a manicure.

tellyjots · 03/05/2016 19:43

£38.50 fora hot wax Brazilian. Hot wax hurts much less in my opinion, it's worth going somewhere that does it.

It's also less sore if the hair is relatively short.

Ilovetorrentialrain · 03/05/2016 19:44

Hollywood hurts more than legs. Legs short sharp sting type feeling, Hollywood more intense, especially on the... sides. All short lived though and IMO well worth it.

ChicRock · 03/05/2016 19:47

28 for Hollywood and 25 for full leg.

You want someone that uses hot wax for your bikini - that's the wax that is NOT removed using strips.

I love having my legs waxed, I get about 6-8 weeks between appointments, but it does take a few waxes to get all your hair into the same growth cycle - so you won't be silky smooth after your first couple of waxes.

Ilovetorrentialrain · 03/05/2016 22:23

Second ChickRock on the hot wax for Hollywood. Avoid anyone who says they do it with strip wax. It won't be right.

MushroomTree · 08/05/2016 17:34

Without wishing to sound incredibly stupid... if they don't use strips, how do they get the wax off?!

Sitting here cringing at thought of a Brazilianor anyone coming anywhere near me with hot wax or anything else!--

Racheyg · 08/05/2016 20:10

mushroom the wax peels off. Its really thick. This is the best wax to use for all waxes down below.

MushroomTree · 09/05/2016 16:01

Thanks. Thought that must be the case but wanted clarification from someone in the know!

Can anyone recommend somewhere in Hampshire for waxing? I'm in the New Forest, so somewhere close would be great. Thanks.

Get an epilator. Saved me £45 a wax!

MushroomTree · 12/05/2016 17:24

Don't they really hurt though?!
