Hi,

I am truly sick of looking crap in makeup. I am Indian and attend Indian weddings etc where everyone looks fabulous and I look like an under made old frumpy drudge.

Can anyone recommend basic videos for applying eye make up well?

I have a work trip abroad coming up and am planning to raid the MAC counter at duty-free.
I don't know much about make up at all, but I do look rubbish at the moment 😢

The key is great skin foundation and concealer. Use of contouring which makes those lovely angles on the face . I'd go for a mac makeup lesson and learn from a pro.

Mac would give you a customised list so you don't waste your money.

Oh! I didn't even know you could get lessons like that. I'm 41 and really don't know enough about makeup. I think suddenly going from nothing to foundation and concealer etc would be a little odd as it would be a drastic change.

I need to bin my old make up and start again really!

Don't be discouraged. It's about looking fresh. I like to look flawless ...think of the most beautiful Indian stars with flawless skin. That's what you are after. Can definitely be done!!

Lisa Elridge has a few very good party/night time eye make-up tutorials. She even did a . She does do very good and thorough explanations in her videos with both low- and high end products, the day looks are very light but she does amp up the volume with smoky eyes and special event make-up.
