Mother of the Bride outfits (not easy)

Hi

I thought I would start a new thread. I cannot be the only person who is finding this a nightmare. I have got a dress but it is so expensive to start with and the matching jacket is expensive too. I don't really want to start again.

Alot of the stuff is synthetic and it is a Summer wedding. I had a beautiful Fenwright and Manson outfit which was a lace overlay but is was all synthetic and I thought it would make me hot and sweaty.

I hate jackets and I would rather wear a bolero but is it not formal enough. I was hoping there may be some sort of offer but of course it relates to other makes but not mine. I did try another make but it didn't work with my dress. I think I will end up spending at least £300 but at least the dress fits properly.

Agree about a cream jacket being best TBH. Did you look at the mango one OP?

Ilovetorrentialrain · 29/04/2016 16:32

Here's a lovely cropped cream jacket:

Actually is the background of the dress white not cream?

RaisingSteam · 29/04/2016 17:20

I vote for a short sharp cream jacket and lovely corsage to match your dress.

Woodhill, what about this dress? It is from Hobbs, so you could maybe just swop it?
It is silk/wool, so natural fabrics, and it has elbow sleeves. Just a suggestion.

Woodhill · 29/04/2016 18:29

Yes some of the suggestions are great. Thanks.I love the Hobbs dress but have a feeling I tried it. Also Spring colouring so may be a bit muted

I liked the Hobbs jackets as I am narrow shouldered and some jackets look boxy on me.

I like fascinator and prefer them to hats. I think at this point I don't care if I look frumpy, I care more about my bank balance and my dd is being a nightmare

I did see a HOF linea coat but wasn't sure of length and if it would work

Ordered a cream chiffon shrug from Fenwright Manson. Tried it on initially when I went to styling session. More halfway house
