Straightener recommendations

Hi all, after a decade I suspect my straighteners are on their way out.

I can't afford GHDs, so what else are people using that work and don't cost the earth?

I'd like quite slim ones so I can also use them for curling. TIA

Remington's are really impressive IMO.

Yes I have wide plate GHDs but I also bought el cheapo Remington for curling purposes and agree they are very good.

I saw a infra Ray light one in a shopping mall in Birmingham at the weekend that was seriously impressive, hardly any heat and the hair looked like it had smoothing product in after straightening but didn't, about £100 with a 5 year warranty
