Bra guru help please!!

I've measured 35in underbust, measuring tightly, and dangly boobs 47in. This calculates at 34/36hh, which seems ridiculous! I'm currently wearing supermarket cheapies 34e, which look not bad but I really need at least one proper sized one that doesn't hurt me and supports me. I've been putting it off as I'm upset at how big they've got due to weight gain, especially since they were a pert 32e after my breast reduction and before pregnancy! Going to order several online so wondered what sizes to try??

35/47 would be around a 34hh/j or 36h/hh.

If you put your current bra on and scoop as described I'm the guru fitting guide what does it look like?

Too small on the cup and no lift at all! Been on very tight budget recently but enough is enough. Can't easily get to bravissimo so was just going to order Debenhams bras in various sizes online but they seem to only go up to h size. I was a 32g -according to m&s before my reduction so been lying to myself about what size I am now!

34hh/j if this doesn't inspire me too lose weight I don't know what will!

Did the M&S ones fit before? Can you go back to M&S if they did? At least then your know what your dealing with and can try cheaper ones.

Life is way too short for sore boobs, especially for the more busty amongst us - mine just cried a little for you.

If I was 32g at m&s years ago I'm guessing that I was actually about a 28k, lol! Long time ago. I'm about 4st overweight, I'm hoping if I lose it I'll go back to 34f?? Apart from the fat I think my actual ribcage has got bigger since having children

Rather that buy online from Debenhams you could try better (IMO) fuller bust brands discounted at Brastop, Leia Outlet and Belle Lingerie.
Ample Bosom too - although they are mainly Fantasie with little choice of other brands.
A good sports bra might be a good start - I love my Panache non wired one. Am sure it goes up to H or HH too.

Lingerie Outlet Store are good for discounted "proper" brands as well - similar to Belle Lingerie, so Freya, Panache, etc. I bought a load of bras from them recently (lost weight so went down a back size) and the service and range are very good.

Debenhams have own make ones at 2 for £17, cheapskate bargain hunter in me thought it was worth a go. Was going to get some of my old friend Freya rio to try too.

What does it mean when bra goes to high up in your armpits? Got a 32ff that does this- fits OK round back but pushes boobs under my arms. It's a lepel one, and my least bad one.

No idea... Is the side bit too big for your body??

BTW just been looking on M&S and they do have a sale on 50% off!

Probably the shape of wire - haven't worn Lepel myself, but some brands have higher and narrower wires than others.

If its pushing breast tissue out then it's too small in the cup.

It's the bra that's high in my armpits not breast tissue- I had though maybe cup was too big. Just bought a 2nd hand Freya 34h from eBay to try it out for size.

Hi statistically, I bought a lovely freya bra online 34h (34/47) and it is enormous. Fits at back but could be tighter- cups very baggy. Not sure what size to try next? I love freya bras, great shape on me. I had a reduction years ago- could this affect the outcome of the measurements??

Did you scoop? If it could be tighter, what about trying a 32H instead? That's a cup size smaller as well as being tighter in the back.

I'll try 32h but I think I'll just have to get into Glasgow to bravissimo and forget the whole online thing. Boobs are so annoying...

Getting by with Asda cheapies 34g £6. Good for the price but I need to get a real bra.

Do not buy online until you know your exact size for each brand. Fantasie, Panache and Freya tend to be pretty standard but you need to be measured first. Go to a decent department store and get measured. The assistant should know the products well enough to suggest something. We come in all shapes and sizes so looking at different makes is a good idea because they do vary in cut and side support, for example.

I cannot understand why anyone would expect a bra to do a decent job for the price of two cups of coffee. It is worth investing in something decent that fits. It will make you feel so much better about your figure and your clothes will fit better too. I think skimping on bras if you are a bigger bust is just not possible. My DD is a 30FF but looks fantastic.

bojorojo i totally agree about the 2 coffee bras, I just literally have nothing else until I can get out to get a real one!

Yes breast reductions can make a difference. My friend has had one and it's left her with breasts that seem to be smaller at the root so her overbust measurement is large for her overall breast volume ie there's not as much breast at you'd expect. You get the same issue with developing teens who tend to have quite pointed breasts and with people with implants too. The overbust measure is only ever an approximation because breast shape varies so much.

Freya tend to have loose bands so I'd try a 32. But if you can get to bravissimo then go!

Brastop is fairly cheap. I know it's online but it's free returns and they're quick too

I'm a 30FF and love the Freya Deco bras.
I've tried the Debenhams gorgeous range and they just don't suit me, no matter how I sister size up and down the sizes.
