babyliss big hair or similar

I've been looking at the babyliss big hair and would like to hear experiences of using one...is it worth the money? Are there other cheaper alternatives that are just as good?

I've got wild frizzy hair and usually straighten it but it goes wavy about 20 minutes later! Any other suggestions are welcome on how I can look less disheveled! 😃

Bbh is the best thing since sliced bread :-)

People seem to either love it or hate it. It would be great if you could borrow one before buying.

I know, its a lot of money to spend to discover I don't like it! Is it hard to use?

I find it hard to use and time-consuming as you have to do it in narrow sections. However I have long wavy frizzy thick hair. But I love the results! Smooth frizz-free hair that swishes, with loads of volume at the roots.

I love babyliss big hair, I have unfortunate frizzy hair that although it is fine there is a lot of it, dragged through a hedge backwards is a regular look of mine. If I use bbl big hair it looks like I've been to the hairdressers, lovely swishy hair. Even DP comments and he's not one for noticing stuff like that!

I've had one for years, I can't blow dry I'm crap at hair it's really easy to use.

I bought one and found the controls a bit tricky. A bit like patting your head and rubbibg your tummy.Went back to john lewis and tried out the remington equivalent which is much easier to get on with. You roll the control switch in the direction you want to curl hair. It does exactly the same as the baby loss and gives amazing results bouncy glossy hair.

I find it really easy to use. I've recommended it to lots of people but some of them have found it hard to use and didn't get good results.

It's brilliant. It takes a while to get the hang of it but it's worth persevering. My hair is naturally wavy and I'd tried every technique for blowdrying using various fancy brushes but nothing compares to the finish you can achieve with the BBH.

It is excellent for smoothing the hair, creating volume at the roots and creating movement. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to create that just-out-of-the-salon finish. I rough dry my hair till it is almost dry and then finish with the BBH.

Mine just broke and I've not replaced it. The casing broke and although very quick and easy it did sometimes tangle my hair and also made it greasy by over stimulating the roots.
I've just got a revlon paddle brush hot air styler instead. It makes my hair look very smooth and neat.

I bought one about a week ago and I adore it, it was about £40 I think.

Found it easy to use after first go.

Mine has just broken after one full year of fairly solid use. Loved it and I will definitely replace it but after my attempts to try and get the broken one fixed/replaced for free, as per the guarantee, I will be sure to keep the receipt for the replacement safe.

Ruby mine broke after just short of one year! Not impressed and wouldn't get another because of that really.

I really like the BBH and picked one up from ebay which had only been used once for about £20. Really love it and I find it easy to use.

That's good to know, thank you! I also have fine, frizzy hair but masses of it! I can never blow dry it myself very well! I work in a professional role but often worry that I look like I've just rolled out of bed which makes me look unprofessional!

Best £40 I ever spent. After dozens of recommendations from fellow frizzy-haired friends I splashed the cash and bought a BBH about 3 years ago. Apart from almost losing my fringe( after two glasses of champagne on Christmas Day) by using the appliance prior to reading the instructions, it's been a joy ever since. In fact I bought a second one as a back up in case they ever stop making them and am considering a third. I'm a moron when it comes to anything requiring dexterity and even I can use this.

I have shoulder length hair, I let it dry by about 80%, then section my hair beginning with the underneath layer- as any hairdresser would do, 12-15 mins later lively swishy, shiny hair that looks almost as good as any £30 salon jobby. If they ever make a portable one my world will be complete😍

Ah yes - a portable/travel BBH would rock my world too!!

I dream about portable GHDs and BBHs it would complete my camping trips!

i dont like my bbh on its own, my hair is nice for a couple of hours then frizzes up still, i do use it for when i straighten my hair as well though, ss it does stsy straighter longer

Yes I use my straighteners too, it makes it a lot more smooth.

I love my BBH. It's brilliant.

On my second one as the first one burned out. I delayed replacing it but eventually gave in. New one has two changeable heads. I use a hair dryer to get the worst off, then use BBH and then sometimes finish off with straighteners. Very easy to use. Great results on my gingery busted mattress barnet.

Like a lot of posters, I blast my hair 80% dry, then use BBH, and then a quick run through with the straighteners. And whilst I'm generally pleased with the results, it does annoy me that THREE appliances are required to manage shoulder-length hair!!

I LOVE mine, been thinking about getting one for ages. I have very thick hair so blow dry first and then use BBH. Takes me about half an hour but totally worth it and now I'm not using straighteners as much I'm not getting as much heat damage. Love my GHD's but they were making my hair very dry.

I put off getting one as I didnt think it do much for my relatively straight hair . But I had some money to spend on myself so went for it.

I loved it from the start. My fine hair tends to cling to my head with static so I was wary about the brushing but shouldnt have worried Once I got the technique - rather quickly in the end- I ended up with glossy swingy hair.

I only recently developed a further trick at the end of drying .Once its all done I then run down the length of the hair with the brushes on reverse so it smooths the whole length . Makes the ends follow the shape of my neck nicely.
