Help me stop looking so 'meh' when I go out

So tonight I'm off out to a few bars with the girls and I'm wearing black sparkly top, black jeans and black boots with big sparkly earrings and I just look 'meh'. I think I look ok but just not very exciting. My hair is a lot longer than it was 2 years ago and although I get compliments on it I just think it looks flat.

So what can I wear to look a bit more interesting? Bearing in mind my size 20 big boobed and big bummed figure?

Different makeup? Silver necklace? Maybe a belt? Outfit sounds nice, so sometimes you just want something to make it feel different!

Colour! Black sparkly tops are useful stand-bys but they are a bit yawn, aren't they?

I remember going on a Christmas work do a few years ago, and a woman I worked with, after a couple of drinks, said to me, "I feel a bit old and sparkly and boring". She was wearing...black jeans, boots and a sparkly black top.

It doesn't matter what size you are. I bet you could get a lovely colourful kaftan-style (but hip length!) top that shows off your chest and flatters your figure, which you could wear with girlfriend jeans and eye catching shoes in a colour that picks up on of the colours in the top. I think that outfits like that look better on people with a bit of flesh on them, and stuff like that looks lighter and more springlike than black.
