A perfume that smells of summer

Elvag · 15/04/2016 18:49

Anyone recommend a really nice summer perfume.
Thinking cucumber, sea salt, sun cream, fresh outdoor dried sheets.
All the things that smell lovely and fresh without being too sweet or cloying.
Any ideas?

Yes, is that the red bottle (Clarins)?-I have it and love it 😉

AKissACuddleAndACheekyFinger · 15/04/2016 23:22

I meant clarins, not Clinique, sorry. The wine posted for me.

314phone · 15/04/2016 23:31

I love the smell of cucumber too.

Elizabeth Arden do a green tea cucumber scent but it's only out in the summer I think. I have a bottle and although it doesn't last long it is so fresh.

CoconutAmericano · 15/04/2016 23:33

Nuxe perfume I think is very summery

burnishedsilver · 15/04/2016 23:33

What a great thread.
The weather is getting on top of me. I'm now thinking a summer perfume is what's needed.

314phone · 15/04/2016 23:33

l'occitane Té vert is so crisp and intersting and fresh.

I hate sweety sexy musky scents though.

LuluJakey1 · 15/04/2016 23:39

Clarins Eau Ressourcante- blue bottle. Fab!

HarrysMummy17 · 15/04/2016 23:41

If you like coconut scent Avon do one called Tahitian which always reminds me of summer

314phone · 15/04/2016 23:43

Elvag, also, try ''inis'' it's really beautiful. It's an irish scent, it's supposed to smell of the sea, but it smells nicer than the sea ! it smells salty. In a good way.

MyFriendsCallMeOh · 15/04/2016 23:55

Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc, very summery but not in a suntan lotion smell way, love it and got lots of nice comments wearing it last week.

MozzchopsThirty · 15/04/2016 23:57

The red one is eau dynamisante which I use through the winter
Eau resourcante more summery and fresh, yes blue bottle

Hanae Mori (by Hanae Mori- the one with red butterflies on the box)

ExpandingRoundTheMiddle · 16/04/2016 00:13

Virgin Island Water. It works on some people (meeeeeGrin) but not on others. Summer and happiness in a bottle.

Library of Fragrance Sunshine & Salt Air. They smell amazing mixed together! Cheap and cheerful too!

hollinhurst84 · 16/04/2016 01:58

Second 4160 Tuesday's what I did on my holidays
Also this range, I have a couple and they're all lovely. Often in tk maxx http://cleanperfume.com/fragrances/for-her/fragrances

Bit more pricey (the one called lazy Sunday morning is lovely; smells of clean skin and sheets)

There's a perfume called Inis which is an Irish perfume but you can buy it online , I sprayed it in an Irish gift shop then travelled around the coast sniffing my arm and fell in love with it, my dad tracked it down and whenever I wear it ,which is nearly everyday, people comment, it's gorgeous xx

Tartyflette · 16/04/2016 02:13

I second Givenchy's 'Eau de Givenchy', although it's hard to find these dsys; I think Harrods might stock it. It's part of the Givenchy Mythiques range.
I also like citrus scents in the summer, particularly orange-y ones (but not orange boossom/neroli) and I have one i bought on eBay called Naranja de Sevilla which is presumably Spanish. Hermès Eau d'Orange Vert is also lovely, very fresh and distinctive without being overpowering. I think it's aimed at men but to me it's quite unisex.

Escada always do summer perfumes which tend to be gorgeous and are usually my airport purchase! Just googled this summer's here. Sounds like it might be lovely Smile

Drinksforeveryone · 16/04/2016 09:19

Ck Eternity Summer and Jill Sander Sun.

I love both - they are total opposites but both remind me of summery days.

CoconutAmericano · 16/04/2016 10:09

rocco14 i wore Inis on my wedding day!

MadSprocker · 16/04/2016 10:28

Loads of lovely suggestions on the John Lewis website. Want to go trying now.

mogloveseggs · 16/04/2016 10:33

Parroton was it from gap? I used to buy it every time I went shopping in Manchester. Little silver cannister.

OnceMoreIntoTheBleach · 16/04/2016 10:34

Ralph Lauren Blue smells like sunbathing/swimming off the side of a yacht.

It's my summer fave.

314phone · 16/04/2016 11:57

Tartyflette, I was going to say that I loved eau de givenchy but it's discontinued so.... what's the point.

Try Burberry weekend for men and you will get a blast from the past. It is the closest thing I can find to eau de givenchy and i do wear it sometimes. It is a little bit masculine of course. But it's close enough to remmind me of being 19 and zipping around on a moto. (moped)

cressetmama · 16/04/2016 13:04

Lots of lovely scent on here. I yearn for Eau Suave, the loveliest rose scent ever IMO, but have never owned more than the sample as I can't justify another 100ml bottle Halo.
