Maybe wear the shoe boxes instead?!

I dread this time of year. Away go the boots and now starts the hunt for summer shoes for my wide feet (EE) and to top it all high instep!! Where can I find comfortable stylish affordable summer shoes. Flip flops are great but hardly suitable for all purposes! Birkenstocks were good til I tripped up a cracked pavement whilst wearing them and broke my elbow! Suggestions please?

I have very broad feet and have bought a few pairs in the past. Really comfy and some are quite stylish!

I get a pair of M&S wide fit gladiator sandals every year and wear them every day it's not raining. When it gets far too cold I go back to winter boots again. No inbetween as I can never get flats to fit.

I feel your pain and hate to admit it, but I have recently bought 2 pairs of shoes from Hotter at the age of 37. They fit my stupid square feet (EEE) perfectly and are actually ok looking. (Top tip, never tell your MIL in case she congratulates you on finding a shop where they sell "nice" shoes).

If it were up to me I would move to a climate where there was no need for any shoes between boots and flip flops.

Camper are not that wide. I usually wear Clark's wide fit, and Camper are too narrow for me.

why don't you try Birkenstocks again? Sounds like an unfortunate accident, mainly caused by a cracked pavement. OK, I know the bikrs may not have helped but you're blaming the wrong cause. A shame to discount an entire range of shoes if they suited you and you find shoes hard to find.

I also have wide feet and high instep. Some of the shoes in the Clarks wide-fit range are really comfortable and stylish.

Thanks to all - lots of investigating to do. Rieker look good online but prices are a bit too steep for me. Camper a bit too trendy as in my late 50's! However all will be tried as desperate

smurfinggreat or worse take your nan to the pavers/hotter local shop and end up buying 2 pairs at the age of 34 whilst your nan finds nothing she likes .

Hotter are all too narrow for me, but have had luck in both hennes and primark lately
