Birkenstock Gizeh

Can anyone please help out with sizing? I am usually a size 6 which is a Europe 38.5 and although I've had a pair of Gizeh before I can't remember whether they were a 38 or a 39. I'm sure there was something about the sizing which was quirky. Anyone able to help please?

I find all Birkinstocks to be wider fitting than usual and I always have to size down slightly when I buy them. Not sure I've ever had Gizeh's though but have had various other styles.

judgelionelnutmeg · 13/04/2016 16:47

I'm a euro 38 normally but I always take a 37 in Birkenstocks as the 38 is too big. So perhaps you need a 38?

WoodleyPixie · 13/04/2016 16:48

I find I need a smaller size than usual.

EnPapillot · 13/04/2016 16:54

I've just seen these in all black for £25.95 at debenhams :)

EnPapillot · 13/04/2016 16:55

... but I've just looked and they're only in a 3. Sorry!

KikisDeliveryService · 13/04/2016 16:56

I'm a size 6 with wide-ish feet and always buy 38s in Gizeh's which fit perfectly.

LexieSinclair · 13/04/2016 16:58

I'm a size 6 and have the gizehs in a 38. They fit perfectly.

Pigeonpost · 13/04/2016 20:25

Marvellous. 38 it is! Thanks Grin

Generally size down with birkenstock.

For some reason I found the gizeh horribly uncomfortable - probably to do with having a high instep

HettyD · 13/04/2016 20:42

They also have a 'slim' fit, look at the base and it is shown as a shaded/unshaded footprint.

Pigeonpost · 13/04/2016 21:03

I've had the Gizeh before and loved them. On the fugly sandal thread someone recommended a website called Sarenza with a £10 discount code of WELCOME15. There are loads of Gizeh on there but it's saying 38 is equivalent to UK 5 which can't be right can it? Argh...

OP posts:
Pigeonpost · 13/04/2016 21:05

They say that a 39 is a UK 5.5 and then it jumps up to a 40 being a UK 6.5. Instinct is saying still go with 38?

If it's any help I'm a 3.5-4 and need a 36 (narrow fitting)

piddleypower · 15/04/2016 23:01

Size down. I live in Gizeh in the summer. Will check that site out.

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking · 15/04/2016 23:48

Go for the 38. I've always gone at least one size down in Birkis.

EmpressofBlandings · 16/04/2016 00:10

I'm a UK 8 and often need a 42 in other makes, but Birkis are good at 41. So I reckon size down slightly, as PP have said. Oh God I love my Gizehs. I have 5 pairs currently active and i cannot WAIT till it's time to wheel them out as standard...

Blackpoollassy · 16/04/2016 07:57

You're supposed to have space at the front and back of a pair of birkies. Irritates the hell out of me when I see people wearing them too small - but then I'm very anal.
There's a good size guide on the birkie website if that helps

Blackpoollassy · 16/04/2016 07:59

PrimalLass · 16/04/2016 09:35

I've always worn a 39 in birks but have just sent two pairs back because they are too small. I wonder if the sizing has changed.

Drinksforeveryone · 16/04/2016 09:40

I have Gizeh and Madrid both in a 39.

Regular shoe size is 6.5/7.

LBOCS2 · 16/04/2016 10:09

Groupon had some Gizeh for £25 earlier in the week too, I think... Also, try Amazon :)

Pigeonpost · 18/04/2016 23:07

My Gizeh have arrived. With fluro orange sole. They are cool. And fit perfectly. Wearing in around the house shall commence tomorrow....

I've just got some new Birkenstocks. Ordered 5.5 online and they've sent me 39s. Seem to fit though.

SwedishEdith · 18/04/2016 23:24

Oops, missed your update!

Pigeonpost · 19/04/2016 20:51

I had forgotten how hard on the feet new Birkenstocks are. Ouchy...
