What are the rules for wedding guest dresses?

I'm working from a premise of not too formal, not too informal, not too ostentatious, not black and certainly not white. So that narrows it down Grin

My real question is: how close to white can you get without it being white? Is floral on a white base ok?

I've included a few here and would appreciate your thoughts on whether they are suitable. For further info: bride and groom are English, wedding is in 4 weeks and in a relatively unusual venue which might mandate wellies.....

If you like floral patterns, how about this one I just bought from House of Fraser? It's a lovely dress, feels good on. A potential for a wedding I've got in September.

Ooh, I really like that Robot! I've been hoping to find a dress that's cut at the front as I suit them, and that looks really nice and like it would suit curves.

Hmm. Thank you!!

You're welcome! Glad you like it. It's quite thick fabric, soft and stretchy, nice to wear. It's cut in a curvy shape.
