What is BB and CC cream?

Was reading a different thread and read about BB cream?

Tried looking it up on the net and seen its for blemishes and there is also CC cream.

Which is better for uneven skin tone? Are they suitable for Asian skin or are there specific ones?

One is 'blemish balm' the other is 'colour correction' I think
The best one I use everyday is Rimmel matte Bb cream, great coverage and cheap

I use nivea light bb cream, love it far better than the benefit foundation I was using.
