Another capsule holiday wardrobe!

Hi, I'm hoping for some help. We're going on our first family holiday to Crete in early June. After losing 5 stone post kids I want to treat myself to new holiday clothes. It's an all jnclusive resort and we have 2 under 5's so don't think we'll be leaving it for much sightseeing!

I think I'd like it to be based around navy, White & yellow.

I have some white 3/4 length trousers from next, yellow Boden shorts and a navy Boden cardi already. Oh, and I have white Birkenstocks.

I'm a size 10 but got quite a lot of saggy skin. Bobbed curly hair that's dark brown. I'm quite hourglass with short legs. I'm early thirties.

Budget is high street levels - can spend up to £300. More if I can justify using cardi's etc off holiday.

Sounds lovely - both holiday and colour scheme!

I'd look for some navy chino shorts and/or denim shorts (Next for plain chino or denim, Gap for nice patterned ones), a couple of sundresses (I saw some nice broderie ones in the sale yesterday) and a couple of crepe scoop neck sleeveless tops (everyone goes on about wearing cotton when it's hot but I think these are brilliant - pack well and easy to rinse through, and don't crease).

I'd also maybe get a long Jersey akirt or mid-length tube skirt.

Something like this in yellow would be good too:

www.marksandspencer.com/v-neck-shell-top/p/p22446097?prevPage=plp

And I'd get some tan leather flat sandals too - New Look often do a lot of surprisingly nice cheap pairs of these.

You'll also want a scarf or two, maybe a long necklace, a big bangle/bracelet and a beach bag.

Are you sorted for swimwear?

Laquila · 10/04/2016 07:32

Oops. Can anyone remind me how to do links from phone?!

Silvertap · 10/04/2016 08:14

Those gap shorts are half the price of the Boden ones I've got! Will have a look at them!

I do need swimwear. I think I'm about a 32e these days.

I'm struggling a bit with a bag. I think I'll need a kind of beach bag but haven't seen anything I like.

Oooh, I like the idea of starting fresh with those 3 colours.
I had fun looking up yellow, navy and white bags and swimwear for you.
The classic Longchamp travel bag in navy. I've never had one but always meant to buy. Would love to hear if others like theirs. Or less of a splurge..

This goes with your colour scheme.

Have you been bra intervened? 32 sounds big for a 10

Laquila · 10/04/2016 09:29

Diana please share the secret of links?! Thank you!

Sainsburys have got some lovely cheap beach bags if there's one near you?

Laquila · 10/04/2016 09:32

Have a look at Pour Moi swimwear - I have a great navy cup-sized bikini from there, amongst others.

DianaT1969 · 10/04/2016 10:21

Hi, for links I put the link and the word to describe the link inside double brackets i.e [xx] but double [[
Must be square brackets, not the curly ones I believe.

Silvertap · 10/04/2016 11:25

There's some fab links there thank you. I'll sit down tonight and have a really good look through.

I think I love the idea of the long hand bag as my travel/beach bag! Navy would be so versatile too.

Thank you Diana!

DianaT1969 · 10/04/2016 20:51

A few cover ups in your colours on this site

Maraki · 10/04/2016 21:02

I would add a stripy navy/white breton t shirt (£3 in primark), a navy and a white vest which would all go with the white trousers and navy shorts. Sparkly flat sandals (primark) and silver flip flops.
I would go for a red bag (excellent suggestion for the Longchamp). Get a gel manicure pedicure in red.
You will need kaftans. I wouldn't bother with scarfs, it will be too hot.
A pair of heels and a navy dress for the evening. A black or navy dressy top that can be worn with the white trousers in the evening.
A silver makeup bag can double as an evening clutch.
Have fun!

candykane25 · 10/04/2016 21:02

Doing the same as you, similar colours.
I've got a blue maxi skirt from gap, navy vest tops from gap, a crinkle yellow sleeveless top from Boden.
I've got denim culottes, denim skinny shirts dim gap and navy chin shirts.
I'm wearing tan leather fit flop sandals.
I've got some lightweight knitted Biden hoodies too for cooler days/evenings.
It's many all gap and Boden with a little lands end thrown in.
Ivegot a brilliant purple dress with large yellow sunflowers on it, and a lovely navy top with yellow daisies.
Everything mixes well together.

Bra intervention people. What size would you recommend for me? I'm 32 around my rib cage and 37 when leant forwards. Any suggestions?

OP posts:
Diddlydokey · 13/04/2016 21:35

32e is right. Are you pulling the tape measure tight? 32 is quite big for a 10

Silvertap · 14/04/2016 06:46

I think so dinky. I'm more an m&s/next size 10 rather than a true size 10. I also seem to have a rather wide rib cage and small shoulders!

Thanks. Will try a few.

Have a look in oasis. They've got some great pieces in the baby and yellow. Cute tops, skirts etc.

Accessorize have some great sandals tan strappies with a bit of silver leather detail.

TheFairyCaravan · 14/04/2016 07:00

I've just bought this yellow floral dress from Next for my holiday next week. It comes in plain navy too. I recommend you size down, or order both an 8 and a 10, if you like it because it comes up really quite big.
