Can I wear a belt with this dress?

Just bought this day dress for my hols. Feeling a bit sacky in it, usually prefer to have a waist in a dress. Could I put a belt with it? If so, what kind?

I wouldn't, I think you'd have too much material where the belt would pull it in.

I think you are right happiness, thank you. Do you think it could be altered to tailor it in at the waist? I'm clueless about these things!

Personally I would wear a belt with it. I think a fairly thin brown leather belt (the colour of the shoes in the picture) around the waist could look really good. I have quite a lot of similar dresses and would always wear them with a belt.

Depending on how your waist is a thin belt could work. Don't do it up to its tightest so it sits on your waist, it'll pull the material in without it bunching too much.
