You lot seem good at finding stuff so here goes.
I am going to a wedding in the summer. In the uk, fairly traditional, church and hotel reception. The bride is quite a quirky dresser and I think it's going to be quite a relaxed atmosphere.
I want a new outfit. I fancied something different. I'm usually quite a conservative dresser and would love something with a bit more style. I'm mid thirties now with two little girls and I feel like my posh dresses are just grown up versions of what they're wearing to parties!
I'm interested in any suggestions.
Fancied a top/skirt combo maybe? Or dress or even willing to try a playsuit idea.
I'm only 5'2" white and about a size 10. Small chested with a bit of a mum tum that I'm self-conscious about.
Thanks

I''ve linked to this more than once before but it's great, I think.

Am off to bed now but I'm sure you'll get loads of suggestions. You'll need to cover your arms / shoulders in church (and can be quite chilly), better sleeves tend to look a lot better than a cover up really. THey also eat into the budget awfully.

I do like that style. Not totally sure about black for the summer though.
Fancied something with some colour!

Quite understandable! What sort of colours do you like? Yay or nay to pattern?

Smartiepants79 · 07/04/2016 20:16

Open to pattern.
Colour? Hmm, not sure. Maybe not pale pinks/peaches/nudes. Not a huge fan of the really bright blue, orange and greens that are quite fashionable at the moment but prepared to give it a go!
Nothing fluorescent!!Grin

this is very pretty indeed
skirt
the model is wearing a size (or two) too small to my mind
love this

Not really sure what sort of style you fancy

MrsLettuce · 07/04/2016 20:44

Laska5772 · 07/04/2016 21:02

this Coast Ariella jumpsuit was suggested by someone for a wedding the other day click through the pictures to see it onthe model..

I suggested this dress which I still think is ideal for a summer wedding

And I recently wore this to a weddng

Try chichi. They have loads of dresses, long/short and they're reasonably priced. Was looking at dresses there today, and one of my work colleagues has ordered two.

Smartiepants79 · 07/04/2016 21:17

Ooh!
Like the oasis skirt and with the top it looks like a nice outfit.
The metallic is interesting I'd have to try it to see if it suited my colouring.
High necked stuff tends not to be very flattering on me.

Some of the ted baker ones are lovely too. I like the paler one that's longer, would have to see how flattering it is.
Will look at chichi.

I prefer the black version of the Ted Baker dress above.

At 5'2", need to have it taken up.

Smartiepants79 · 08/04/2016 16:15

Being a short arse does have its drawbacks.
I'm not against having alterations if I love it.
I'd never normally look at ted baker or reiss so this has already been helpful and made me look outside my comfort zone!!

I think Coast is lovely for wide skirt/top combos

ScarlettDarling · 08/04/2016 19:51

I think this look is gorgeous...full tulle skirt and plain top with killer heels. Perfect for a summer wedding.
