Plain cotton cardigans - best shop?

I would like a couple of new cardigans to mix and match with summer outfits. They need to be plain ie not patterned, sparkly and cotton or mostly cotton. Also simple styles. It's not that I'm really boring (honest!) but I have quite a lot of patterned dresses etc and some slightly funky jewellery so I like to keep the cardis simple!

I like Boden cardigans but could do with finding something a bit cheaper.

Zara

PrimalLass · 05/04/2016 10:39

Boden

PrimalLass · 05/04/2016 10:41

I meant to say Boden in the sale!

Second Zara - very nice and wash well.. H&M do plain thin cotton cardis for £9.99 they are ok though obviously not as good qualityI as some more expensive brands.

Last year I bought a plain Navy round neck cardi from Primark (cotton/poly mix) for £6 and it is fine ( if a bot warmer nadf thicket than 100% cotton)

I just ordered another few of the 'favourite cardigans' from the Boden clearance bit as they are perfect for work. Wearing the khaki one today.

House of Fraser linea ones. Always in the sale, come in full arm and 3/4 length, huge selection of colours. Wash fantastically.

Uniqlo

Or Woolovers cotton 70% silk 30% - lovely fabric

Ohthepressure · 05/04/2016 14:49

Definitely Woolovers, the silk and cotton ones with a frilly edge and pearl buttons. They look great undone or buttoned up. m.woolovers.com/cotton-silk/womens/fancy-frills-cardigan.aspx

Top Vintage do excellent fitted plain colour cardies.

I find Woolovers stuff a bit shapeless.

H&M have some 100% button front cardis (about £10ish), sit just on the hip on me.

I was in a netbag so they don't get pulled out of shape.

La Redoute have great value cotton cardigans. Smile

cissyfuss · 06/04/2016 00:19

Lands End... usually great range of colours and good quality... will last for ever...

pollylovespie · 06/04/2016 00:22

I got a few from Primark recently- great range of colours and v cheap!

figureofspeech · 06/04/2016 03:07

I bought one from Debenhams for about £12, so mid range and plain in style. Easy to wash and good quality material, mostly cotton.

petalpower · 06/04/2016 09:04

Uniqlo - about £25 round neck or straight edge/v neck. Good range of colours.

balancingfigure · 06/04/2016 17:47

Wow thank you, loads of suggestions! I'm working my way through them and need to go and look at the Next and Primark ones I think.

And Twinklestein I think you are going to cause me trouble. I couldn't see any cotton cardigans but Top Vintage have amazing dresses and other stuff and I'd never heard of them before!
