Ultrasun or la roche posay for suncream??

Going to Greece in August and need a good suncream (one for body and seperate one for face) I'm most concerned about the facial one as my skin is a nightmare! I want one that's not like chip fat or white looking! Also lots really sting and make my skin bright red so have to wash straight off and the stinging doesn't go away for ages! Face one has to be fragrance free.
Usually use Piz buin spray for body but up for suggestions. Thank you :)

Ultrasun. They do a sensitive for face and also one for body, which has never upset my skin (eczema, rosacea, just generally hypersensitive). The spf 50 is a thicker formulation, and does feel different to the spf 30, going somewhere like Greece you definitely need a high spf though! You probably already know this, but Ultrasun will have to be reapplied if you sweat lots, or been in water, and you should still avoid the midday sun (sorry, am very cautious after having skin cancer).

Thank you. Yes don't worry I'm a fair redhead so I defo have to be very careful. I'm concerned the ultrasun is going to be drying as it contains alcohol! Why do they do this ffs!!

I find it very moisturising, wear it pretty much every day and my skin seems very happy. I've tried a lot of suncreams as I'm picky, and Ultrasun works well for me (not a huge fan of the spf 50 face, as it is very thick). You can get smaller sizes and kits if you want to try it out first, I think John Lewis and M&S sell the kits, and I have found small tubes on ebay before too. It's a right pain searching for the perfect suncream!

I ultrasun sensitive last summer on the whole family and it was a godsend, didn't irritate or dry out.

I have very sensitive, fair skin that burns easily. I've tried both brands and I've gone for Ultrasun Face and use it every day. As I remember, they were both pretty similar in appearance and feel but the LRP stung a bit. But that's just an individual thing so you might be fine. I'm not thrilled that Ultrasun contains alcohol but it seems to work for me regardless.

I use the skinceuticals one for my face, it's brilliant, factor 50. Most make my eyes stream but this doesn't. I've got the tinted one, love it.

I've just switched to Eucerin which seems v good. I have v sensitive skin.

I have very sensitive, eczema prone skin and use Ultrasun for face one every day (I acid tone so need an SPF even in the UK). It's not greasy and absorbs quickly. I can apply make up with minutes of using it.

I really like that Ultrasun bottles have pumps - much easier to work out how much to apply. The Escentual website always has good prices.

Alcohol helps with the absorption. I use Biore Watery Essence which is a Japanese SPF. For the UK LRP is good although it does leave a white cast which is annoying. I've used the Clinique City Blocks before although be aware that the formulations are different for the SPF25 and SPF40 .

I use Face 30 most of the year but 50 in the summer. I burn easily. I normally use almond or wheatgerm oil as a moisturiser first.

My morning skincare routine:

Wash with creamy non-foaming cleanser, toner, eye cream, serum, day moisturiser, sun cream then makeup - leaving time between each step for skin to dry where needed. Total time from start to finish is about 20 - 30 min.

I am super pale with sensitive cheeks and use Ultrasun spf 50 in the summer. It's really good you can apply it once a day unless you go swimming or sweat a lot/wipe your face. I've never got sunburn when using it on holiday and I burn easily.

I'm a bit concerned that with ultra sun u can't put ur normal moisturiser on first as it needs to go on clean dry skin so it can bind but I need to put moist on first I don't want suncream esp one with alcohol to be first thing that goes on my skin??!!

I used the La Roche Posay one in SF50 last year and for the first year my face didn't come out in painful boil type spots so I'd recommend it (plus it goes on over your normal moisturiser).

I hadn't noticed that about Ultrasun, op - must start reading instructions Blush But I moisturise with oil so I always slap that on when I first get up then wait ten minutes or so for it to sink in before sunscreen. So face is dry but still clean. It seems to work! It's no hassle - I just make a drink or start getting dressed or whatever while I'm waiting.

I'm really struggling to decide lol, my skin is so so sensitive and dehydrated but breaks out in spots or rashes when upset and that's the last thing I want especially as it takes my skin weeks to get back to its normal state once it reacts! :(

I posted up thread but just wanted to say again that unless it absolutely has to be either LRP or Ultrasun it is worth looking at the Eucerin one. I have a face one (SPF30) and an SPF50 one. I used LRP for years but have gradually switched to Eucerin. I have very sensitive skin and rosacea.

I put Aveeno moisturiser on my face after my shower, and then when I'm starting to get ready to go out (at least 30 mins afterwards) I put suncream on. I didn't get on well with the Eucerin sun creams, but obviously everyone is different.

I use the Ultrasun face spf 30 for very sensitive skin, and also the face spf 50 for ultra sensitive skin. Then the family formula spf 30 for super sensitive skin on the rest of my body.

I have very similar skin issues to you, and I get on really well with Ultrasun.

It's LRP for me and I don't get a chalky faced look with it which is good and I put my normal moisturiser underneath first.

No it doesn't have to be lrp or ultrasun those were just the two that came to my mind. I hadn't considered Eucerin as I've never got on with their products in the past (although I don't like Lrp skincare either lol) I like the sound of the dry touch cream gel one from lrp
