My new favorite acid toner

I've experimented with several acid toners - Nip + Fab glycolic acid pads (effective but sun-sensitizing) and their Dragon's blood salicylic pads (too perfumed and alcoholic), Korean CosRx products (disastrous, I developed acne cysts), and now with Stridex Sensitive salicylate pads. Stridex Sensitive leaves my dry skin feeling the very best: smooth, supple, flawless, and not flaky tacky or tight. It is a really mild exfoliant, so if you want to slough off everything, you should look elsewhere. But anyway, for light daily maintenance, these are perfect. Five star recommendation.

What is your favorite acid toner?

Can I ask what CosRx one did you buy? I wonder why it caused acne? I've just order the salicylate one so am a bit eek! at your review.

My very best acid toner/cream was by Jan Marini and was the only product ever to control my acne to any degree. It's this one.

Home made with apple cider vinegar (with the' Mother') and green tea, equal parts with few drops of lavender oil. Initially smell like a chip bag, great for my skin. Grin

Really, its a proper acid toner without any nasties or alcohol.

I have yet to use these on my face since they were so darn cheap and am trying other new products I relegated them to my body and it's working like a champ for the KP on my arms and the ingrown hairs on my legs. Kiko Purifying Pads, they were on offer for the equivalent of £2 and there's 66 in a packet. Salicylic acid based, pretty gentle and has a bit of an odd smell but so far so good. Skin is delightfully soft, don't think it's much of a heavy hitter much like yours Frugal more of a daily maintenance thing, I prefer my acids gentle anyhow. It was a gamble buy and frankly I was rather surprised it actually did something. Can't find them online so I'm a bit worried the offer might have been because they're no longer selling them Sad.

My favourite is Pixi with the nip and fab pads second Smile

Nip and fab glycolic Smile.

But I'm desperate to try the Dennis ones .... ( just need the money)

SimonLeBonOnAndOn · 30/03/2016 22:35

I'm using the F.A.B pads, finding them far more effective than Pixi

I've just bought REN Clarimatte (on recommendation from MN!). Have only used it for a week but it has got rid of a stubborn flaky patch on my cheek.

Thanks everyone, great recommendations!

Botemp ooh I love Kiko, will definitely check out their bags the next time I am shopping shop there. I have an unopened hoarded jar of FAB, too sunny now but I'll revisit in six months.

Isound I think the CosRx was the betaine salicylate one (have passed it on long ago), but lots of people are getting great results with it, my skin is just super finicky.
