Maternity dress for wedding reception

Please help!

I have looked everywhere, ordered a few off asos but returned them as I looked like I was wearing a sack of potatoes. DH was in hysterics.

I will be 26/27 weeks, I'm 5"7 and a size 8, ideally would like to spend about £40 max as it will be worn once but I want to look stylish/trendy (hate that word) I did see one dress on topshops website but it was gone when I went to purchase it!

Why do maternity clothes manufacturers think once you are pregnant that you become a total frump and lose any sense of style!?

My hair is also a pinky/purple (newly coloured) so need suggestions on colours to go for/avoid

I bought most of my maternity clothes from eBay. You will probably want maternity size "1", which equates to size 8-10 normal.

If you know what colours suit you, that really helps (I'm a Summer, so really didn't want black, and SO many maternity dresses are black!)

At 26-27 weeks, you don't necessarily have to wear maternity dresses only. It just needs to be stretchy. I have tons of non-maternity dresses with some stretch and ruched waist, that I wore when heavily pregnant. The upside of course being that you have more choice and you will get more use out of the dress.
For example, this would have enough room for belly, just tie it on top of the bump:
