If you double cleanse do you also use a micellar water?

I am still trying to 'get' this whole micellar water concoction. Confused

At night I double cleanse using a cleansing oil, then a cleansing gel, and a toner (All Boots No7) before slapping on serum and cream. Now I am wondering whether I should be using a micellar water as well/instead. I am a bit of a product hoarder

Any advise appreciated.

I think a micellar water is a quick way of removing make up before cleansing properly. Its not something you need to add to your routine unless youre trying to speed things up.

You will end up stripping your skin resulting in your pores going into overdrive to produce oil and you will get spots and congested pores!

Personally, I don't like mscellar water anyway. I've tried a few and they never remove every trace of make up.

Bioderma micellar water is the original and best and it removes every trace of make up and grime.

I use it maybe once every couple of weeks when I really CBA with the full double cleanse. I have Madara micellar water and it's lovely.

Fine as a quick fix but I wouldn't use it every night.

I quite often use it as a first cleanse when I am double cleansing at high speed, but would never add it to another two step cleansing routine. That way madness lies.

Thanks ladies. I might stay clear.

May I ask, what do you do cleansing wise in the morning? I just use toner nothing else.. Blush

I always do a thorough double cleanse in the evening so feel my skin just needs a 'once over' in the morning and like you use my toner then moisturise. I think it's enough to be honest but I'm certainly no skincare whizz so always interested to see what others do. If I'm feeling particularly groggy I'll use just warm water and a flannel to freshen up a bit.

Bonnie152 That's what I do too. Hmm what should ones morning skin care routine be???? Hmm

Micellar waters don't cleanse your skin properly, they are liquid makeup wipes essentially so nope I don't!

I use a cleansing balm like The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter, Clinique Take The Day Off or Emma Hardy Moringa!

Micellar waters are designed to be used as a quick fix cleansing product, ideal for a morning cleanse or removing a light make up.

A double cleanse with specialised cleanser is a much more thorough way to deep clean the skin.

There is no need to use cleansers and micelles waters together - they are designed for different tasks.

Got lots of time and want to do it properly? Double cleanse.

Want a quick cleanse with no fuss? Micellar water.

I double cleanse at night and use a micellar water in the morning.
