Someone was wearing this today and it looked fantastic. I am very pale and struggle to find a non yellow/ orange shade.
But £60 Shock
That said I've probably wasted £250 on the wrong foundation.

In my opinion no. They are decent but not better than dior/chanel/laura mercier most of which are half the price.

omri · 22/03/2016 22:03

I was very disappointed- would never again.

dragonsarebest · 22/03/2016 22:19

I used to love future skin, was definitely my favourite foundation ever. Sadly became sensitive to something in it and can't wear it any more. I was less impressed with just skin.

hollinhurst84 · 22/03/2016 23:20

I shall drag up my pale foundation swatches! Bear with me
Top to bottom (tattoo down!)
Illamasqua skin base 03
"" 02
MUFE HD (old formulation shade 110)
Kevyn aucoin sensual skin 02
MUFE HD now has paler shades too, ones that start with R are pink toned, Y is yellow

Chantecaille foundation.... Worth it?

Top to bottom
Mac waterweight NW15 (I think they do NW10 too) NW is for pink tones, NC for yellow
Urban decay naked skin 0.5
Revlon colour stay Ivory
L'oreal infallible stay fresh in porcelain (I find this pretty full coverage)

Chantecaille foundation.... Worth it?

I've just gone back to using it after about a year away from it as felt it was too expensive. But honestly, I prefer it to everything I tried on my year off. It stays put for a start, whereas most others even with primer wore off before lunch. It lasts for ages too, so you do get your money's worth.

Savagebeauty · 23/03/2016 07:46

Thanks for comments. Most of those look too "warm" for me hollins..all Channel, Dior, Clinique and BB is too dark for me.
Ooh dilemma.
Bare Minerals Complexion veil in Opal is OK but not enough coverage

I use their powder foundation and just skin and highly rate. For me it's a perfect colour match. Am pale with pink undertones. Powder is so quick for work days and the just skin, whilst called a tinted moisturiser is a good coverage foundation and a little goes a long way. A tube lasts me a year of about 3 uses a week.

Have used other brands and whilst the produc is good the colour match just isn't quite as perfect.

sulee · 23/03/2016 19:55

I love Chantecaille Just Skin but alternate with a cheaper brand to make it last longer- M & S Autograph Illuminating Touch Foundation, which is pretty good.

Lndnmummy · 23/03/2016 20:11

Illamasqua has good colour choices have you tried them?

WellTidy · 23/03/2016 21:18

I have run out and could not justify spending £60 on another pot. But I haven't found anything that I like as much as it, and I've bought two bourjois foundations, ysl touche eclat foundation and Estée Lauder double wear light in the meantime. I like the ysl one, and I like double wear light as long as i mix it with a highlighter.

I will be going back to chantecaille I think. I had the gel foundation in Ivory.

LazySusan11 · 25/03/2016 15:08

I have the Chantecallie 'just skin' I paid £58 for it 6 months ago and still have loads left, I have had so many comments on how good my skin looks when I use it. I mix mine with moisturiser a little goes a long way. I hate foundation but this feels great worth every penny.

I use the just skin tinted moisturiser and get lots of comments on my skin.I tried others because they are les expensive and always go back to it because nothing comes close,

AnthonyBlanche · 25/03/2016 15:42

Definitely worth it. I use just skin and although it is expensive one tube lasts for ages. I wear it at least 6 days a week and a tube lasts between 4 and 5 months, so daily cost is pretty small.

Botanicbaby · 25/03/2016 19:56

Why not try bare minerals bare skin foundation it's a liquid but you only need a tiny drop or 2 if using their round brush? I've got neutral timed skin neither pink/yellow and bare linen seems to work. They've got lighter shades too.

Failing that bobbi brown has such a huge range each shade is ever so slightly different in tone there must be one to suit you!

Botanicbaby · 25/03/2016 19:57

Oops toned not timed and meant to say it lasts for ages so good value too.

Savagebeauty · 25/03/2016 20:03

I'm allergic to Bare Minerals! I use the Complexion veil in Opal but the foundation brought me out in huge spots.
BB is too yellow...
Am going to take the plunge tomorrow with Chantecaille.

SpaceNK will give you a small sample of Chantecallie to try if you ask before taking the plunge.

Greengardenpixie · 25/03/2016 20:09

I wear a great foundation from recommendations on here. You can buy it a variety of skin tones but if it isn't light enough you can get a lightner. A small bottle usually lasts me about 6 months. Its really lovely stuff. You may find the palest shade is fine. You can buy testers online. The testers are from a website called cocobeau.
