Do make up SA's always compliment you? Transparency in sales tactics!

It's a sales tactic, isn't it? I've always been complimented by them on my skin. Lucky me, I thought - until I read on here how many other people get the same. Then I googled, and found at least one make up company which suggests it as a sales tactic. Then I went make up shopping and had to fight back the giggles when the SA told me I have 'lovely skin'

It's a tactic isn't it? What other ones are out there?

Not in my experience, but I ALWAYS compliment them, because then they give you lots of free samples

I never get told I have nice skin. They normally insult me by asking if I want my foundation to match my skin tone

'You're verrry pale aren't you.'

Oh dear. Some very rude SAs out there! Do they really think that's the way to make a sale?
