why are all nursing dresses also maternity?

I'm not pregnant anymore so I don't need a maternity dress.

But I do need a dress I can breastfeed in

Yes! I wondered this. Last time my tummy went immediately, so I def only want a nursing, not maternity. Wierd!

They're not all maternity - try milkandmummy (pricy) or h and m (cheaper)!

Boob Design (stop sniggering at the back) have some great nursing dresses as well - a lot of them are ostensibly suitable for maternity as well but I think that just means they're stretchy as the ones I had didn't look maternity-ish on. They're really easy to feed in too.

Because they're generally horrible overpriced and people only buy them if they can get a bit more wear out of them.
Honestly any dress where the top can be pulled down or to the side is a nursing dress.

And why are so many nursing tops so bloody ugly?!! I've had a baby, not lost my sense of fashion!

REALLY depends on your boobs! I have very widely-spaced sort of pointing outward breasts (not as weird as that sounds!) and in order to BF in a dress by just pulling the top down/the side I practically need to take half of it off to expose the nipple enough for a feed (I once ended up virtually stripped to the waist on the Circle Line after convincing myself that "I can totally feed in this dress" with a very fractious baby and having to unbutton the thing nearly to the navel to get at the relevant bit). I've seen women do the neat "just pop a boob over the neckline/undo a few buttons" thing and it really doesn't work for me - I've tried!

I hear you on that - a friend gave me a Gap one that was like the Krypton factor. Hence my love of the Boob brand ones where you literally just lift a flap and voila! Boobs! They're by far the easiest nursing tops/dresses to use that I tried.

Some of them really are ugly. No offence to the older lady but I'm only 29 ffs not 55 they are proper mum clothes
