My new white beach cover up is discoloured all over from I suspect sun cream. does anyone know of anyway to rescue it please? i've googled the problem but only remedies I've seen are for specific stains not all over.

Buying white hol things was my attempt to look stylish but now quite a few items are ruined.
Thanks

Suncream is a bitch. You may never get it out.
Mild bleach, if it is all white.
Leave it in the holiday sunshine, and see if it fades.
smear suncream all over the rest to get an even colour

I had a really nice white top that became discoloured by suncream. I tried everything, including bleach which just turned the stain red. I ended up having to throw it away.

I've given up on white clothes now for the very reason.

Try applying Ace gentle bleach directly to stains then put straight into wash with additional capful on wash.
I find this stuff to be the best stain remover by far.

I got suncream all over my clothes once. The bottle shattered on the plane somehow and it seeped through the pockets. It ruined the suitcase and most of the clothes, bleach turned the stains on white clothes red, Ace reduced a bit but made it look like yellow-y sweat stains, Vanish didn't do much to the stains. Even the sun didn't help.

It sucks.

I think the Vanish oxy action (pink tub) makes all my whites look amazing. I bung a couple of generous scoops in a clean bucket with warm water and leave for at least 12 hours before washing in machine. Good luck.

Whoops forgot to say to obviously soak the white clothes for 12 hours.

Napisan might be worth a go but honestly I'd just dye it black instead

louloubelle2 · 19/03/2016 20:56

That sucks, but it's the main reason I don't spend big on summer clothes, it's unavoidable.

I'd do as above, spray with stain remover, or just detergents direct to stain, soak overnight, and when the weather warms up, leave it in the sun for as long as possible to naturally bleach.

..and for this summer, head to Primark for your beach essentials ;)

Thanks for all suggestions. Lesson has been learnt- don't buy white beach stuff Smile
