Can anyone recommend a brand for wide calf boots, either want hard wearing wellies or country boots, looked at Dublin,Toggie, La Chameau, Aigle etc but cant find any to suit my Russian Shot Putter Calves, need around 44/45cm !

I have half height dunlops for £14. They do the job for wellies but might not be what you had in mind?

Have you looked at men's boots? There are lots of country types where I live and the men all wear country boots, but I'd swear they don't have delicate feminine calves!

Annarose2014 · 18/03/2016 12:11

I could have sworn one of the Dublin ones are wide calf.....

I have 43cm calves and mine fit men's muck boots just fine. They go down to size 4 too.

I'm a size 5, I've looked in the mens section but they look so clumpy and not sure if they go down to a 5, been to the local equestrian place and love the La Chameau and the leather country boots, alas, it looks like its not meant to be.

I have the ariat grasmere which are amazing, been through so many winters! They do those and others in full calf I think
Mine measure at 42cm. Ooh actually I'm off to google. I bought a pair ages ago that were too wide for me...

Blueberry234 · 18/03/2016 12:59

I need some country boots but need 44cm with a size 5 foot any ideas anyone?

hollinhurst84 · 18/03/2016 13:01

Here you go
I have the Malham zip which are too wide but size charts for each and it seems most of them would fit you

hollinhurst84 · 18/03/2016 13:02

Cross posted but the size 5 zip ones are 44.5cm calf

Hunter makes an adjustable calf wellie that goes quite wide.

DamsenBerry · 18/03/2016 13:47

I bought my last country boots a few years ago now, I think I bought Ryedale in the end and they had an elasticated panel and a button adjustment at the top, which ended up just being enough. Though Fuller Fillies were a big contender for me at the time, they are FAB on width sizes, if they're still around.

leadrightfoot · 18/03/2016 17:33

Dubarry extra wide are awesome and worth every single penny
You will never find them on sale or reduced my calves are 45cm and I can get skinnies in boots too. After 4 years they still look good and I wear mine to death most of the year.

nicwnac123 · 18/03/2016 18:04

I do love the Dubarry but they are pricey, not sure I can justify that for walking the dogs Confused. Been checking out Aigle Parcours as I do get muddy and lots of streams etc so think a wellie might be a better option.
