A dear friend of mine is heading off travelling with her family for six months. I want to get her a gift but can't think what to buy. I'm thinking something for her that is slightly luxurious but have no ideas what. Space is if a premium and she's travelling around Australia so won't need smart clothes etc. I'm really stumped. Any ideas???

Thanks in Advance

When we moved abroad a couple of friends bought me a very simple bracelet. That was three years ago. Back in the UK now. I still wear it most days - it's quite subtle and goes well with other bracelets.

Or how about a guide book for family friendly things to do in Oz? Again, a friend bought us one for our new country. She assumed we already had one but we didn't. She had written a lovely message in it too. I know you can find out all this stuff online but it was nice to have an actual book and it's something they could look at with the family and plan some adventures.

I like the idea of a simple bracelet or necklace. If you are looking for something practical and slightly luxurious, I was given one of these merino vests when I left for Oz and it was amazing. I wore it most days, hardly needed any washing and when it did get washed, dried in minutes.

The grey, almost translucent bracelet is the one my friends bought me (Lola Rose). Here it is with what I'm wearing today. It goes with so much of what I have. Just an idea.

a fly veil. Add some sparkles.

no kidding. THE most useful thing for Australia.

How about some posh sun screen, Clarins, Clinique or the like?

A really nice Sun hat? I live in a hot climate and always wear hats for most of the year.

A v thin scarf, for the plane and for covering shoulders, adding a little warmth in the evenings?

A nice passport cover?

sunhat is a great idea.

Suncream is cheap in Aus and sold in big containers. Facial 'sunscreen' won't cut it at their latitude.
