Skirts for big hips and thighs?

Seeing lots of nice skirts about but are they a no go for those of us blessed with thunder thighs and wide hips?

Depends on the style? A full skirt is V flattering IMO - I have a small waist but huge thighs and bum. I love a 50s style circle skirt

That's what I'm wondering really, what styles are more flattering. I usually go for a dress but fancy a change.

Doesn't help that I'm short so have to be careful with length.

We sound similar shapes so maybe I should take a look at some 50s styles.

I'm the same, a short hourglass. I find midi length good on me and full skirts tend to be better than a-line.
