Where can I get good quality shoes?

Walking along in the rain today I discovered my only non-summery shoes have a hole in the sole Grin Sooooo I should really buy some new shoes.

I always end up with shoes that last not long at all, even if expensive. DH's only ever last a few months Confused.

So where can I get a couple of good quality shoes? Probably ankle boots. Are Clarks good quality these days??

Someone I knew used to have their shoes soled and heeled at a shoemenders when they were first new. Said that it made them last longer.

Sounds like you are "hard" on shoes. I think Clarks are good quality or what about M & S?

Conker pull on boots with vibram soles. Send them back for a rebuild. You will prob get a couple of years before they resoling. Vibram is tough stuff. Expensive at first but will last you years. Best quality boots I have ever had.

DMs also good.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I don't think I'm particularly hard on my shoes, just wear one pair until they're worn out which is an annoying habit I'm in.

Are caterpillar boots waterproof? Don't know if that's a good look or not actually.

Will look up Clarks & m&s.

Crevice I looked up Conked shoes but couldn't see that Vibram sole option - do you mean but the shoes and get them re-soled somewhere else?

No they have vibram soles. They are really helpful if you ring. I had the wedge type which was light but durable.

If you contact them they send you leather samples in various finishes and they have loads more colours than they indicate on their online shop available. I bought some in their ripley leather and it was strong yet butter soft.

When the soles are worn out you post them back and they replace them.
