V-neck t-shirts, do they exist?

Pippidoeswhatshewants · 06/03/2016 20:49

Or are they a figment of my imagination?

I like to wear v-neck t-shirts with my suits for work. You know, good weight cotton, not see through, in outrageous colours like white, navy or green. You used to be able to buy them in M&S everywhere.

Please tell me where I can buy them?

Pippidoeswhatshewants · 06/03/2016 20:52

Nope, flimsy shite that has holes in after one wash.

I was going to say Gap too.

I have a few - but not particularly smart - mine are casual tshirts.

southeastastra · 06/03/2016 20:54

uniqlo

Starman16 · 06/03/2016 20:55

Had forgotten about American apparel, but this is not suitable for work store.americanapparel.co.uk/brushed-jersey-venture-top_rsamoj3155
What's with the ghetto chic? Confused

I've just had a totally pointless trip to M+S for some white/black/navy short-sleeved cotton+atinybitofelastane t-shirts. No joy Sad

When you find them, please share, OP.

Pippidoeswhatshewants · 06/03/2016 21:01

I like uniqlo, but I am not a small bosomed Asian elf, I am more of your Germanic Valkyrie...

i have that american apparel top it's alot more flattering in rl Grin

Eastpoint · 06/03/2016 21:02

John Lewis has some by American Vintage which are thick enough to be able to wear without a jacket but still fine. They are about £45 each.

southeastastra · 06/03/2016 21:03

the material is really nice

burnishedsilver · 06/03/2016 21:07

Unfortunately "flimsy shite that has holes in after one wash" seems to be the norm these days, no matter how much you pay for it.

Pippidoeswhatshewants · 06/03/2016 21:17

Maybe I need a trip to John Lewis, although I think £45 for a t-shirt is ridiculous!

I am about to order some from Boden. The gap ones are terrible and flimsy.

southeastastra · 06/03/2016 21:18

american vintage is crap imo, but john lewis own brand do some nice thick v necks, also check our the somerset but temperley range

BikeRunSki · 06/03/2016 21:20

Boden ones were flimsy shite last year. Haven't bothered this year.

lavendersun · 06/03/2016 21:23

I bought some new jeans in Gap last week - they have got these - quite like the look of them but the reviews are rubbish

lamiashiro · 06/03/2016 21:25

I've just bought some from Gap for the gym. They are fairly see through though. They're the linen ones.

daftbesom · 06/03/2016 21:29

Lands End. They also do cotton/modal scoop neck which I wear with suits all the time.

lavendersun · 06/03/2016 21:31

Just remembered that I bought from here a few years ago - colours limited but they were thick and decent quality

PacificDogwod · 06/03/2016 21:32

Well, I seem to have just placed an order for 5 t-shirts with Uniqlo.

Big-bosomed Germanic Valkyie here too Grin
We shall see….

Pippidoeswhatshewants · 09/03/2016 16:12

Very unexpected find on Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00LEOGMJE/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?qid=1457539754&sr=8-11&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=hanes+v+neck

The navy test one arrived today and seems nice. Not too low cut, not too flimsy. I have ordered lots more colours now, you can't go wrong for £3.99!!!

OP posts:
PacificDogwod · 09/03/2016 19:12

Well.
Uniclo came through - great t-shirts, cotton + a bit of stretch.
I think all my plain t-shirts in the future will come from them. I like them under woolly jumpers in the winter, under shirts/denim when it's cool etc etc.
Several grey tees will bite the dust Grin
