Please could you recommend some work dresses?

I tend to go for blac/ grey shades. I'm a size 14 and unadventurous in style terms. I just need something professional looking.

Ps I'm a lion tamer in the circus so no excessive dangle bits or zebra print.

I always get complimented when I wear one of their dresses, but I do tend to shop in the sales.

Hmm I've had a look and while there are some I love they are the less formal ones or navy (which I can't pull off).
Need to have another look though, the first few seems quite wide at the bottom (better description escapes me) do you think this means they're less formal? I do like them.

The vet first one for example. I love it but it's not formal work wear. ..or is it?

Hobbs and M&S also good fortworkwear, especially dresses, depending upon budget

I'd wear the first one to work. My problem with wearing dresses is that I never know what shoes to wear. Massive feet limits what actually fits, multiply sprained ankle limits what is comfortable, parking a mile away limits what is practical. And super chunky calfs limits what doesn't look ridiculous!

Thanks everyone, I will look at all these when kids in bed.
I tend to wear trainers and take posh shoes in a carrier bag. I've done this loads recently and get places so much faster when I'm not in my high heeled boots (currently roken zip) which are comfortable, but even they can't compete with my trainers :o

I'm happy to get one or two really smart ones and spend a bit of money on them (instead of wearing suits) and then a few cheaper ones for smart but not excessively so wear.
I am speaking at an event the week after next and have just realised all my 'smart' work clothes are past their best a bit.

Following this. I prefer to wear dresses for work but find it really hard to find ones I like. My favourite is from Monsoon but it's the first and last work dress I've ever seen in there!

I can wear some Hobbs - most of their dresses hit my waist at a weird point and I look as though I'm auditioning for a jury garland role

Banana republic has some nice stuff but watch the labels

Finery/ Cos - nice clothes but I look a mess/ frump in them. Jaegar feels too old for me but my friend ( same age) can wear it and looks great.
