Where to find long length basic tops for layering.

Can anyone suggest where to find longer length basic/plain tops and t-shirts that are good for layering please? Any sleeve length and neck cut as I am on the hunt to replace most of mine.

I have a long upper body and struggle to find tops that are long enough or don't ride up. Gap used to be my go to for basic sleeveless scoop neck tops or 3/4 length/long sleeved tops in v-neck and scoop neck but I find they are either made of dreadfully clingy material now or don't last well. My old favourites are falling to bits so are in dire need of replacement.
Thanks!

White Stuff do a longline tee.

EssentialHummus · 06/03/2016 13:39

I'm still a Gap fan. Some of my Sainsbury's ones have also lasted ages - bit Blush at talking about Sainsbury's as a clothing choice but my attitude for basics is "whatever works".

Dunnes do a lovely v long vest top.

Kettlewell do a really good range of tops, including a camisole top and a vest top, which are particularly labelled as 'long'. They come in a large range of colours. They are pricey, but good quality, and wash well.

Long vest top

Thanks everyone, a good list to have a hunt through! None of them are places I would have thought to look so even better as I haven't ruled any of them out, thank you!

H&M basic tops are cheap as chips. Not sure if they'd be long enough on you though.

AFingerofFudge · 06/03/2016 18:30

H&M do longline type vests in all sorts of colours, £3.99. They're fab.

Primark have a cami 'dress' for about 2.50. It's a vest top with spaghetti Straps and it's very very long. I love them.

Nuttypops · 06/03/2016 20:20

Brilliant, thank you! I have some time to pop out tomorrow and hunt out a few of the options and will look online tomorrow eve for others. Thanks!

Long tall sally

Notannabell · 06/03/2016 21:02

Some next Tall tshirts are quite good but the quality had dropped in recent years

Asos do maternity vest tops in a soft touch fabric which are a nice long length and quite a thick fabric! I bought them when I was pregnant and have kept buying them because they look good under things. They don't have the standard maternity rouching on the side seams, but they come up pretty big, so I go down a size or two.

Ktay · 06/03/2016 21:14

hallhuber vest tops from House of Fraser are great quality and nice and long

Ktay · 06/03/2016 21:15

Sorry duff link try again

Ktay · 06/03/2016 21:15

I give up! They are the £15 ones on the HoF website

Stylingwax · 06/03/2016 21:17

Maternity tops are good actually as often they're just a bit longer. I bought tops on eBay which were new and I'm stop in them post birth cos you wouldn't know.

Jw35 · 06/03/2016 21:18

H&m do do longer basic tops, I buy them all the time! Cheap and basic!

badfurday · 06/03/2016 22:11

Matalan did loads of long vest tops last summer for about £3. I use them for layering. Normal length ones look unflattering on me and ride up. I'm hoping the get more in this year. Otherwise, h&m as others have mentioned.

hollinhurst84 · 06/03/2016 22:13

Second Matalan vest tops

redcaryellowcar · 06/03/2016 22:44

Although probably totally not the thing to say on a style and beauty thread, but primark vests are really long, and are cheap very good value!
