I've had my hair dyed blonde for a while now and go to the salon to get roots done every few months. I've decided I would like to go back brunette as I can keep up with the cost by dying it myself.
However do I need to use a red first or can I go straight brunette from blonde?
I don't want any hair disasters so looking for advice.
My hair has currently two inches of roots the rest is blonde.

You need to go red/auburn first to 'fill in' the blonde adding back the warmth that was taken away or you'll end up with khaki/grey/blue hair. I'd use a brunette one shade lighter than the one you like.

well you can't make brunette from blonde at once. It will be a huge damage
