Since my kids have stopped using a buggy I find myself laden down with crap every time we leave the house. I've been using dh's 25 year old timberland backpack but it's dying and I'd like to replace it with something a tad more stylish.

Alternatively, suggestions for a largish backpack with lots of pockets? I may end up going for function over form but if I could find both that would be amazing.

Not really lots of pockets but Herschel backpacks are fab. I have two of the Retreat ones, in khaki and in yellow. They're a good size too.

Fjlraven Kanken backpacks are great of they're within your budget?

FankEweVeryMuch · 29/02/2016 18:02

Although they do lack in pockets so might not work.....

Following I always use backpack as I cycle everywhere, my current one is falling apart. Dh bought it for me from tk maxx.

I would like one that's waterproof as well if possible.

Kipling? Not stylish but inoffensive and lots of pockets. Or just get a bog standard plain black one.

FankEwe - I would love a Fjlraven but can't justify spending the money on one at the moment :-(
Elotrolado - I really like Herschel and need to go and look at some in person.
Remus - I don't know why but I absolutely cannot buy Kipling. I matter how well it might fit the brief, for some reason I hate them.
I ducked I to a luggage store nearby this afternoon which doesn't have a huge range but enough that I could get an idea of what's available and I think asking for stylish and lots pockets/room might be impossible!

Birdie, Kipling didn't sit well with me for years. I don't know why.
However, last summer I bought a navy blue Kipling rucksack.
I can't live without it. I don't wear the monkey.

It's bombproof. And the quality is excellent. And, yes, loads of pockets!

Herschel have some lovely summer colours for this year...

Good luck!
