Hiring a makeup artist is £££ so my friend who is really good has offered to do it for me.

If I was starting from scratch without using my existing makeup what would you say I needed to buy?

I recommend buying a foundation that doesn't flash back in photos, it can't have Spr in it. I used Laura mercier and my photos were good. I had a make over with them and bought the essentials.

If you can I’d go with your friend to a bridal lesson at Bobbi Brown and they will show you how to do it and recommend what you need. It’s completely free you just pop in and make an appointment!

I would say watch Lisa Eldridge who has several wedding looks, see what you or your friend already own that you could use to make a look you liked of hers and take yourself down to a Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown counter.

I did my own makeup based entirely on stuff I already owned (mostly Laura Mercier) and a Lisa Eldridge video which I practiced obsessively
