Tights with no seam on the toe. Do they exist?

Toe seams are unbearably uncomfortable for me. Do tights exist without them? I don't mean the reinforced bit around the toe, I mean the actual seam. I've been searching on line and the pictures and descriptions don't confirm. I live v. rural - miles and miles away from a decent department store or specialist shop.

And I don't get on with those sandal tights which your toes poke through at the end, they just gap and gape around my shoes.

Please please please oh lovely S&B people help my poor toes. Please Smile

Oh, the answer seems to be no Sad from www.tightstightstights.co.uk/hosiery-terms-explained-i121

"Sandal Toe

The term sandal toe refers to the finish used to make it suitable to be worn with sandals! This means that the weave of the tight does not alter all of the way down to the seam at the toe. It is worth mentioning here that we have never found any tights, stockings or hold ups that have no seam at the toe, it is the only way that they can finish what is essentially a tube!"

There are some tights that are advertised any time I open FB that say they've positioned the seam under the foot rather than at the toes.

But they're also claim in some revolution in tights so I'm not sure I believe them. They also only come in 2 weights neither of which is properly opaque.

It's the under the foot that's the problem. If the seam sat at the top of the toe like they do with socks I'd have no problem.

Are you wanting to wear them with sandals?

Because otherwise you could just wear footless tights and socks if you are wearing boots. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious.

Thanks for your reply. Footless tights are great with boots but I would like something for just regular shoes.

I have the same issue. I dived into Tesco the other day (emergency birthday card run) and on my way to the till saw these, which I think had sock-like toes with the seam on the top. I'm going back on Saturday when I've got more time to properly investigate - shall I post back here with a report? www.clothingattesco.com/womens-hosiery/f+f-knitted-100-denier-tights/invt/ch521004&bklist=icat,4,shop,lingerie-shop,womens-hosiery

The tesco 100 denier ones do indeed have a sock like toe. They are my favourite tights!

Choughed · 01/03/2016 14:08

Hurray! Thank you - I will investigate.

Now if anyone manages to track down sheer tights with a sock toe my life will be complete.

Hi. I need tights that have no seam across the base of toes as they bleed. Any ideas?

Try dancewear shops for proper dance tights...there is a range from seamless to footed

I too get irritated by the toe seam. It goes under the foot rather than staying at the top of the toe.
