Which ones are best? Am a complete beginner lol X

If it is for a special event you could get individual lashes applied at a salon. This has been the best effect for me. I pay around £18 for that.

Buy some cheap ones that you like the look of(I buy eyelure in superdrug) and get some duo glue(also sold in superdrug/boots), grab some tweezers and have a go? You nearly always need to cut them to size(unless I have really small eyes!) And its more about getting the right ones to suit, good glue and practicing application than buying expensive lashes I've found.
