Colour analysis

I have decided to give myself a Mother's Day treat and book myself in for colour analysis. I know others have had success self-diagnosing with books and web tools, but I haven't managed it.

The thing that's holding me back Is that I've had a look on both the CMB and HOC sites for consultants in the areas I could reach and am distinctly underwhelmed by their photos and blurb. They all look very formulaic: season appropriate jersey scarf and bright lippy. If I'm going to part with my hard-earned I think I'd prefer my image consultant to look a bit more inspiring, in her advert if not in real life! (Also, the CMB website is rubbish).

Does anyone have any experiences they can share?

In particular I'd be grateful for any recommendations (whether CMB, HOC or independent) in locations I can reach, which are:

Belfast / North Down (easiest location)
Birmingham / cheltenham / bath / bristol
South / central London

I was a bit like you with the website images, I'm a bit alternative with the way I dress and a lot of the pics were twin set and pearls. You can still wear what you want but just do it in your colours.

I can't remember whether it was HOC or CMB but I would say go for it. I have found it really helpful and I have gone from hating shopping to quite enjoying it because I know what I'm looking for.

I would go for HOC.

Looking at the website, I think some of their consultants are much more modern looking now. Mine did look like an air hostess but she was spot on with my colours.

Why not give a few a call to see if you like the sound of her?

I can't recommend where to go, I did it years ago because pp I knew who had seen my consultant just looked right and I was intruiged. I hated the experience but actually she was correct in her diagnosis of me. I'm an Autumn but wore black all the time. I was v resistant but eventually could see what she meant. Now I have an amazing wardrobe of beautiful, flattering colours that all match.

She was an independent ( Colour me Beautiful I think ), don't know what difference it makes but definitely do it, it was a massive game changer for me! Although I did not enjoy the experience at the time.

It's actually good if you go in a group as it's easier to see what works on other pp than on yourself.

And whatever they say to you, you can apply it to what works in your own life. I got a swatch with the colours on that I used to take shopping with me but I don't need to do that anymore as I now know what will work. It was useful at first after wearing black for years! I love colour now.

You can also get it done for free as they need models for their training courses, I've done that too!

I also think it's good advice to go to a group session. I think it difficult to be objective about my own colouring whereas if I can see that she's right about other people's analysis, it will giver confidence that she's right about me.
