Your favourite facial sunscreen

I'm sure this has been done before but if you wear a facial sunscreen every day can you tell me which is your favourite?

Looking for one that works well as a base for makeup. I did like the Lancome one but it seems to have gone out of circulation and frankly it cost way too much! Anyone tried the LRP 50 Comfort Cream?

You can still get the Lancôme one it's gorgeous.

It's just been repackaged and named. It comes in 30 or 50.

I'll check package and post back.

Sunsense factor 50 from Amazon.

Have just bought the Avene very high factor sunscreen and like it so far though I haven't yet worn it anywhere particularly sunny...

I like Ultrasun because it's unfragranced.

I find with all sunscreens that unless you really wash your skin thoroughly at night with a flannel, they will clog the skin. This is because they're barrier creams.

Ultrasun wins every time for me, I wear it year-round.

I have a tendency to oily skin and have tried many sunscreens. This from Neostrata is by far the best I have ever tried. Goes on like a primer. Great UVA and UVB protection.

I've heard great things about this Neostrata one too, tho I haven't tried it. I might try it next time.

Currently using Korres yogurt SPF30, very light-textured and does not irritate my skin at all. It would be perfect if it were fragrance free.

Biore Watery Essence spf 50 and the peachy Missha one.

I used to love the Lancôme one but then, in Chile at least, they changed from UVA and UVB to only one. I can't remember which they dropped now but I burnt with the factor 50.

Now I use Clinique, the one in the yellow tube, SPF 30 in winter and 50 in summer.

Im really naive about sunscreen, not something I was brought up with and have only ever really worn it on holiday. I see various threads on mumsnet about it and now in my early forties I'm thinking I should take more notice!

I have an outdoor hobby but I'd only ever put sunscreen on if I thought it was hot enough that I'd actually get burnt but I live in Scotland so it doesn't happen often.

I work in an office and for 6 months of the year I barely see daylight during the week as I work long hours. Do you wear sunscreen every day under make up? Even if you're only going to work? I have enough trouble finding make up that suits without having to put something else on What do others do?

Another biore and Missha fan (pink one though) two weeks in August in Egypt and fair skinned me and (teen bit spotty)dd didn't even go pink (even with swimming, though it went on regularly)

Another pink missha fan. Also like La Roche posay Anthelios xl. La Roche posay also do a sunscreen with a built-in primer which I think I'm going to try next.

Op it's Soleil Bronzer sun BB cream spf 50 UVA/B the Lancôme one.

I am sensitive and used it on my face the sun didn't even touch me.

Also gives a lovely bit of colour.

Lime yes I try to wear it every day (unless I forget which is frequent enough) under make up. I don't know if you're meant to per se, I just am in the habit now.

My sister got me a lovely one by skinceuticals, was a bit of a bugger for dh to track down when I wanted a new one for Xmas though

I've tried that Bioré one before. It was a bit too watery for me, I prefer something with a richer texture.

Thanks for the Lancome deets Only, but I'm not looking for anything tinted. I'm annoyingly picky!

just the usual basic science bit - the sun is 93 million miles away and air temperatue makes no difference to the UV dose we receive. it is a factor of latitude, time of year, altitude and cloud cover.

'hot enough to get sunburnt' is meaningless. Ask anyone who goes skiing.

if you are outdoors, farty french facial creams in pretty bottles will do a factor of sod all. They are for those staggering on their heels from office to lunch in some smelly indoor place. It's probably the slap on the top providing more protection.

use real sunscreen if going outside for a relevant period of time.

The ones mentioned on this thread are real sunscreens.

Definitely the Biore one mentioned upthread. I can officially call myself a facial sunscreen expert, I think , having tried literally dozens of them over the years in a quest for one that didn't feel sticky or chalky or give me a weirdly white face.

The SunSense one also mentioned above is decent. And I quite liked the Roche Posay one (can't remember name, but in a funny little square bottle)...but the Biore one is a dream. Light, non greasy, non sticky, non chalky. I wear it all year round.

I'm using a lovely zelens one at the moment but I've just noticed that it's just for uvb rather than uva. Also it's too expensive for me to whack it on as I want to. So I'm going back to my trusty old favourite, which is the no7 protect and perfect facial f50

Another vote for the Biore. Anecdotally, it's apparently the number one sunscreen in Asia. I tried to buy more in Singapore last summer and was told it was sold out all over SE Asia.
