A non-hideous backpack that will fit a 15 inch MacBook Pro? does it exist??

Hi Ladies,
Just wondering if anyone could recommend a backpack that isn't sporty and/or ugly that I could fit my 15 inch macbook pro into?
I'm walking to work in the mornings to get some much needed exercise and my shoulders are feeling the strain of a tote!
I've done a search online but every backpack looks as though it is purely functional or suitable for camping...
I've looked at Kate Spade, nothing, but that's the kind of look I'm after, and hopefully less than £250!
Thank you so much

these look ok too !,bargain price

all those weigh over a kilo on their own. If you are already suffering why would you want to carry extra pointless weight?

your computer weighs 2kg so you are adding 30% more weight.

you can be the most fashionable person in the physio department, or you can buy a decent lightweight backpack, ideally with a hip belt. And save a ton of money too. Your call.

Radley, I have one very similar (might even be this one) that I used for work constantly when on crutches and it easily took one, sometimes 2 of my laptops

Dimensions suggest this would work from Cambridge Satchel

another radley

What specialsubject says. Get one with chest and hip straps.

SwedishEdith · 18/02/2016 20:38

Agree with special - there's a reason most commuters use lightweight nylon sports backpacks. Satchels, in particular, are heavy.

Knomo.

Or buy a good neoprene sleeve for your MacBook and then put it into any bag of your choosing!

I like orla kiely back packs but they are expensive for backpacks. Very strong, waterproof and durable. Fossill usually have some good ones if you prefer leather and amazon often have good prices for them.

Occasionally tkmaxx has some, but keep the receipt and accept it's a six month bag only, it will break, be it straps, zip or something else. Think of it as a free bag every six months if you have the patienxe, i don'the anymore.

I have used all three with a largish laptop and a4 folders daily, but also wear a small cross body bag so I can get to phone, keys, pass quickly. (I live in London so it also reduces risk of pickpockets).

Orla Kiely is my fave. I already have one in grey but have my eye on this: www.johnlewis.com/orla-kiely-linear-stem-backpack-black/p2154195?sku=234556541&kpid=234556541&s_kenid=31ef6fff-f9bd-4285-b997-9f6a4ba9873a&s_kwcid=403x850697&tmad=c&tmcampid=73

ephemeralfairy · 18/02/2016 21:52

I'd go for an Eastpak. I had one that lasted 5 years of secondary school. Very lightweight too. Website says 30 yr guarantee. There are loads but i found a not-hideous one on the first page.

These are designed for laptops:

Kanken - all the cool kids have them.

ProjectGainsborough · 18/02/2016 22:32

I second neoprene sleeve and bag of your choice!

Helenluvsrob · 18/02/2016 22:38

Kankens are a very comfortable backpack to carry a decent weight.

Depends on what you mean by stylish but I have a Rains one and I love it.

They weight nothing and best of all - water proof.
